Making our house a home one thrifty project at a time. Monday, January 17, 2011. Spray Painted Ceramic Dishes. Quite a while ago I wrote a post on Shelves for the Kitchen. And I showed you some dishes I bought at D.I. for a STEAL I "Think" I paid $5.00 for the set. The only problem was that they were super U.G.L.Y. They needed an update, the answer? So here they are in all of their 70's glory:. After a few coats of RustOleum glossy white they were perfect! January 17, 2011 at 7:58 PM. What a great idea!

A big shout out goes to my husband, he really did this entire project on his own. I don't know what I would do If I didn't have such a handy husband! The finish work is all that is needed and making cushions for the benches. Here are just a few pictures for you to see this painfully long process. At last, a wall!

http://paintmeshabby.blogspot.com/2012/05/cushions-for-breakfast-nook.html
Making our house a home one thrifty project at a time. Thursday, May 24, 2012. Cushions for the Breakfast Nook. Well, I think the hard part is over. Last night and this morning I finally tackled putting the fabric on the cushions. I think I got WAYY too much fabric- thanks to my handy husband we were able to use the whole piece we cut. Guess I will be making lots of pillow case covers and maybe some drapes? It's a good thing the fabric is pretty! So I returned the second pad. Trevor used spray adhesive t...

I have been quite busy taking care of the kiddos and filling cake orders so this poor little blog of mine has been suffering. Hopefully soon I can learn to balance everything and make time for me! I swear that is the hardest place to fill up and make look good at the same time! One word sums this up: embarrassing. Also, th...

Paint Me Shabby: Antique Buffet!
http://paintmeshabby.blogspot.com/2010/11/sad-story-with-happy-ending.html
Making our house a home one thrifty project at a time. Thursday, November 11, 2010. So I'm sure you all remember this:. Well, sadly it had to go. My husband was convinced that it was too close to the thermostat so it was preventing the thermostat from an accurate reading- - so basically we would wake up in the morning chattering our teeth because it was so cold! I felt good knowing that it was going to a home where it would be appreciated. To that I replied "The very best I can do is $65". I don't feel l...

Paint Me Shabby: New carpet revealed!
http://paintmeshabby.blogspot.com/2012/05/new-carpet-revealed.html
Making our house a home one thrifty project at a time. Sunday, May 27, 2012. Last week we had new carpet put in the house. The carpet in this house has never been replaced. That's 14 year old carpet! Anyway, with a new baby on the way I decided that it was time to replace it. I didn't want another baby rolling around on the nasty old carpet. I have to admit, on the day they came to install the carpet I was pretty nervous. What if I chose the wrong color? Here are some before pictures of the old carpet:.
