August 10, 2012. Over the past week, I had the honor of helping to host several families of fallen Marines, soldiers, sailors and airmen. And as cliché as it sounds, it is a week I will never forget as long as I live—I know the same is true for those who helped this week as well. My church, Fellowship Church. And America’s Mighty Warriors. Teamed up to give these men, women and children a week of rest and comfort at Allaso Ranch. Yes, the families know all too well what that is like. Cliché or not—...

May 25, 2012. Thank You Doesnt Seem Like Enough. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). I like to write. Does that make me a "writer"? Depends who you ask I guess. Sometimes what I write is worth reading. Other times, my best (and possibly only) hope is the next blank page. Either way, these are my thoughts, reactions and perspectives on God, family, friends, church, work, entertainment.you know, life. Enjoy! Some of What I've Read. Where Men Win Glory". Same Kind of Different as Me".

October 11, 2012. The Call That Joe Made. Say what you want to about the Yankees, but you can’t deny it…last night’s come-from-behind, bottom-of-the-twelfth-inning win is the stuff dreams are made of. The Yankees were down 2-1 entering the bottom of the ninth in a pivotal ALDS Game 3. Win and they go up 2-1 in the series, on the verge of moving on. Lose and they’re on the brink of post-season disaster. It doesn’t matter what “they” think or say. In the heat of battle, the most important thing is focus.

Have you ever realized how everyone you meet describes everything they talk about? Hang with me here. It's not that nothing is ever always. And it's not that nothing is ever never. But nothing short of God is always, always. And nothing is never, never. (I feel like the Mad Hatter from Alice in Wonderland.). God is always. This I know is true. As for the rest? Well Never say never. Because that's not necessarily true. And never say always. Because that's not the case either. More Than Meets the Eye?

April 22, 2013. Have you ever looked at a word so many times that it becomes like a foreign language? Ever said a word so many times that it eventually sounds like gibberish? Ever heard a word so often that over time it became nonsense? Simple” is one of those words to me. Typing it just now, I had to double check the spelling. We like to take the most simple concepts and make them nearly impossible to understand and grasp. God has an amazing plan for all of our lives. The choice is yours. April 21, 2013.

January 21, 2013. The Hardest Part of Writing. They say the hardest part of writing is the first line. Well, that’s done. That first line is down on paper…well, you know what I mean. So now what? But that’s how it is with art. The artist is always his or her worst critic. So when the first line of any writing is done, that’s only the beginning of the painful process. The hardest part is far from over. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). I like to write. Does that make me a "writer"? Some of What I've Read.

When the sun rises again. If you're still reading this, then those intial words worked. Or perhaps you're still reading because you know me and you wanted to know what I find to be the most difficult aspect of what I do. Either way, thank you. And hang in there.this really is going somewhere. I say that because, as the situation becomes more distant; as the storm calms, I have a tendency to allow life to become the routine that can so often make God's omniscience and omnipotence seem less, well, omni....

There are times when I walk the aisles of a bookstore and almost become melancholy because there's not enough time to read them all. But at the same time I'm excited to discover new thoughts, study different perspectives or examine unique angles on old, familiar topics. It's the book that equips me and challenges me and reminds me and defines me. And if you haven't read this book lately, I would challenge you to pick it up. again, or for the first time. Because it's written by the greatest au...I had jus...
