the perils of: Binondo
http://beainmanila.blogspot.com/2013/03/binondo.html
Sunday, March 24, 2013. YAY it's FINALLY summer and I can finally get back to blogging! I've missed this so much. There's so much I want to write about right now, but I'll get started with this: my first visit to Binondo. About two weeks ago, my Philosophy professor, Dr. Antonette Angeles, invited her students on a trip to Binondo. We had planned for this trip to happen ever since June, but it never actually materialized until two weeks ago (or was it three? Our first stop in Binondo was the Binondo Chur...

the perils of: current favorites
http://beainmanila.blogspot.com/2015/05/current-favorites.html
Monday, May 04, 2015. I've got a lot of cool stuff I want to blog about (Sagada, Cebu, Cagayan de Oro) but this post has been quietly sitting in my Drafts for some time, just waiting to be published, so I'll start with this. He's turning 14 now, and he's now the tallest in all my family. The skinny kind of tall, the kind that can be better described as "lanky.". As Jiggy is no better a fighter than any of us in the family. And when Dad goes out of town, he appoints Jiggy as "the man of the house," a title which I absolutely despise. Yes, Dad's leaving does. Okay I've run out of steam....

the perils of: Binondo revisited
http://beainmanila.blogspot.com/2015/02/binondo-revisited.html
Thursday, February 19, 2015. Last Saturday (which also happened to be Valentine's Day), Rap and I embarked on a perilous quest to discover a mythical town inhabited by mutant pineapples, noodle-pullers, and, the most dangerous of all, Chinese people. Rap and I had been to Binondo before, albeit separately. I had gone during a field trip for my Philosophy class some two years ago (and I blogged about it here. Anyway, I kept it in my bag when I wasn't using it, and the bag stayed with Rap. Divisoria has a ...
