Cuts of Time: September 2012
http://carlasmedicine.blogspot.com/2012_09_01_archive.html
Sunday, September 23, 2012. I guess I have been bad about posting since residency started it was not without attempts though. As I was preparing to write this post I realized that I had made two attempts to keep up however they both ended one line in. The other day someone asked what I thought about residency, was it better, worse or about what I thought? Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile. Awesome Inc. theme. Powered by Blogger.

Cuts of Time: October 2012
http://carlasmedicine.blogspot.com/2012_10_01_archive.html
Sunday, October 28, 2012. Vote Early, Vote Often. Now for the vote often. I or an impostor could have easily walk in and vote in California maybe even New York, however that would be against the law and I would never do it. I wonder how many people though would or attempt to vote in two states. I realize that the voter identification laws seem to be a burden and keep people from voting but how much voter fraud could they prevent? I think there should be some accountability somewhere along the line. Whate...

Tuesday, December 25, 2012. I miss reading all the Christmas cards that get sent to our family. Although I sometimes barely knew the people it was always nice to hear about their year. In only a page most people can sum up their years letting you know what they felt was worth sharing with the Christmas card family. So here goes my Christmas card. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). In the pursuit of His justice: September 15, 2013
http://inthepursuitofhisjustice.blogspot.com/2013_09_15_archive.html
Thursday, September 19, 2013. My office recently started up a book club, which is awesome, even if that means I'm somehow in three book clubs. (Oops.) We're currently reading Wolf Hall. Which is about Thomas Cromwell. So far, I'm not a huge fan of the writing style- historical fiction in present tense is a bit silly- but, I'll withhold further judgment until I have finished the book. So I am privy* to the many ways in which gas can go terribly wrong. That says to me that, at least historically, our socie...

Monday, October 7, 2013. Alan brilliantly suggested baking cookies this weekend. When he asked what my favorite cookies are, I immediately responded, "Snickerdoodles! So, when Alan and I decided that we were going to make snickerdoodles, I immediate texted my mom to ask for the recipe, because no other would do! We were entertained that my iPhone wanted to autocorrect to "snicker doodles," which we imagined to be excessive chortling while drawing. I was pleased with how our snickerdoodles turned out, jus...

During the month of October, we read The Problem of Pain. By CS Lewis. I've always loved C.S. Lewis, from my childhood readings of the classic Chronicles of Narnia. To my later explorations of his Christian writings such as Mere Christianity. And The Screwtape Letters. I also loved this quote:. I was rather surprised that one of t...

Thursday, January 2, 2014. Why I'm Going Pescetarian. I could have continued in this "flexitarian" state, but I decided that I wanted to commit to something more specific. There are a number of reasons why someone might choose to reduce or eliminate their consumption of animal products, but these are the reasons that most motivate me:. Humane Treatment of Animals. A number of the people in my life whom I most love and respect are vegetarian. I want to join their ranks. I'm choosing to continue to eat sea...

Tuesday, November 19, 2013. Confession: until recently, I had no idea how to stir-fry. You'd think it be simple, what with the primary instructions being right there in the name, but I had no idea what to do. My family never make it growing up, so I had no experience making it. I'm fairly adventurous in my cooking as an adult, but somehow stir-fry never made it into my repertoire. Veggies that Alan and I receive every two weeks. I can't get it crispy! What are your favorite things to stir-fry together?

In the pursuit of His justice: H2Oh No!
http://inthepursuitofhisjustice.blogspot.com/2014/02/h2oh-no.html
Tuesday, February 4, 2014. I'm concerned about the California drought. I want to do my part to help with conservation, so I started researching ways to cut back on my water usage. Apparently, 50% of residential water use occurs outdoors, so I'm already way below average on that front, what with my lack of yard. Nonetheless, there are some. That urban dwellers can do:. Turning the faucet off while brushing teeth or shaving saves about 10 gallons a day. Our property manager did toilet leak tests yesterday,...

In the pursuit of His justice: San Francisco Living: A Year in Review
http://inthepursuitofhisjustice.blogspot.com/2013/11/san-francisco-living-year-in-review.html
Sunday, November 10, 2013. San Francisco Living: A Year in Review. Fact: I still have two boxes I have yet to unpack. I moved into my apartment a year ago today. It's funny that I ended up living in the city, because I never aspired to move to San Francisco. Really, I just wanted to shorten my commute. With all the recent reports. I'm also thankful that my building is rent controlled, so I only experienced a 1.9% increase in rent this year. My other concern as I moved into my apartment was the size.

Wednesday, August 28, 2013. The Monday before last, on my way out the door, I grabbed a box of granola bars I'd been meaning to take to work. I quickly shoved the box in my bag and hurried out the door to face the large number of phone calls I had stacked up for the day. When I got to work, I pulled the box out of my bag, and discovered this:. Unbeknownst to me, Alan had left an adorable, punny note on my granola bars because I had mentioned that I was bringing them to work! Alan was diabolical, and the ...

Monday, June 2, 2014. 10 years ago I was graduating from high school and just about to embark on the first of many trips I wasn't sure what my life was going to entail and where I would eventually end up and in reality I still don't. I just renewed my passport as it has been 10 years since I started on a journey around the world. Friday, February 21, 2014. As time goes on I am realizing how much of medicine has become did I fulfill the check boxes that some one else has deemed necessary? I love April, ma...

Writing both paranormal and historical romance can sometimes be a challenge, but whether you want vampires created in answer to a prayer, or heroes determined to find love no matter the cost, it’s the romance that’s all important. And while I may not always give you the ending you want when you want, I urge you to persevere. Nothing worth having comes easily .
