Urban Sketchers Memphis: Tennessee Brewery Sketches
http://urbansketchers-memphis.blogspot.com/2015/06/tennessee-brewery-sketches.html
Wednesday, June 17, 2015. The Tennessee Brewery is an incredible place, and probably perfect for sketching, but the truth is it's overwhelming. So I sketched the food truck. I made these brown lines with watercolor over Platinum Carbon (waterproof) ink - there are beams all over the place. In late April and early May we planned to sketch at a different place every Saturday to take advantage of the good weather. Hopefully we'll do that again in late September and in October! More Bass Pro Shop Sketches.

Urban Sketchers Memphis: Peter Bowman
http://urbansketchers-memphis.blogspot.com/2015/08/peter-bowman.html
Friday, August 7, 2015. Local artist Peter Bowman, who had attended several gatherings of Memphis Urban Sketchers, passed away last Friday. Peter's sketches always amazed me - his mark-making was bold and purposeful, and his sketches always seemed like fully-formed paintings. For that reason I always show examples of his sketches when I teach sketching classes. Here are some sketches that Peter made with us over the years. We will miss him! Peter's supplies: old markers and highlighters in a ziploc bag.

http://urbansketchers-memphis.blogspot.com/2015/06/spring-visit-to-elmwood-cemetery.html
Thursday, June 11, 2015. Spring Visit to Elmwood Cemetery. Elmwood Cemetery is one of our favorite places to sketch, though it's hard to get the weather to cooperate no matter when we go. This outing was a little colder than expected for late April, which is when summer usually starts in Memphis. Eight of us braved the chill and wind and tiny bit of drizzle to do some quiet, productive sketching. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Our drawings are a record of time and place. 4.
