Our family made the 5 hour trip to Spokane once again, but this time it was to see Eric, Sarita, and Lily- we hadn't seen them since Christmas! It was so great to see them, and to see how well the kids liked each other! When Lily first got off the plane, she came right to me and cuddled with me for about 20 minutes- I loved it! Three kids all dressed up!

October 6, 2009. Fall Farms With Mom. The pumpkin by the boy is 548 lbs! I went a little collage crazy on this post. I just thought I'd maximize space! After church on Sunday, I headed north to hang out with my mom on a beautiful fall day while Ryan stayed home and did homework. Mom and I went to a couple of local farms for the Festival of Family Farms weekend in Skagit County. Then we went to La Conner and drank tea and chatted by the channel. September 22, 2009. We took an overnight trip to Camano Island and stayed in the recently renovated Cama Beach cabins. Though I think they were overpriced, it was a nice getaway. We enjoyed taking walks in the woods and by the beach without others around. We don't get that much living in the greater Seattle area. Our cabin was the one on the left. November 29, 2008. Fidalgo Bay Coffee Tour. I took my class on a field trip to the Fidalgo Bay Coffee factory. The pictures below show the progression of coffee from bag and raw bean, to the roaster, coming out of the roaster, and then being stirred. During the stirring process the beans are actually being cooled by a fan underneath that is sucking the heat out. It keeps them from over-roasting. August 31, 2009. I'm a little behind in posting this since we've been out of town lately. On Aug.23rd, Ryan hit the big 3-0. He had been talking non-stop about flying a seaplane, so for his birthday he got to do just that. Going over the pre-flight details with his instructor. This pic is not very clear since it was really far away, but Ryan is flying that yellow speck. I waited on the dock, praying for his safe return and keeping myself entertained by taking pictures of duck behinds. August 15, 2009.

May 26, 2009. For a mini-graduation celebration, Ryan took me down to watch the sunset along with some chocolate and champagne. Here are some of the sunset pictures from that evening. The retreat was up by Mount Rainier though we were mostly in the woods. Memorial Day weekend, we went for a hike out I-90. The drive was gorgeous!
