FOODS TO NOURISH KIDNEY YIN. Ample water throughout the day. Miso, sea salt, tamari (soy sauce), salted raw sauerkraut or kimchee (Korean cultured vegetables). Each of the five elements in TCM has a flavour attributed to it, and the Water flavour which governs Kidneys is salty. To support the Water element, get a healthy amount of salt. As too much salt will have the opposite effect. Black beans, kidney beans. Most beans such as mung beans, mungbean sprouts, peas, string beans. Blue and black foods.

Crush a few garlic cloves to mix with mustard (powder or paste) and eat it with rice wine. Boil a few garlic cloves in water and drink it as tea to correct chronic cold sensations, particularly in women. Not recommended for people with eczema or carbuncle.
