South Florida Fair

The South Florida Fair is an annual event held in West Palm Beach, Florida, every January or February for the past century. The fairgrounds site occupies 100 acres and is located on the site of the former Palm Beach Speedway at the intersection of Southern Boulevard and Fairground Road. It is set up to make it adjacent to the Cruzan Amphitheatre. Nearly 500,000 people attend the South Florida Fair each year. I took this photographs with my iPhone in 2012 as the fair turned 100 years old.

MIA

I am not a big fan of flying and do not particularly enjoy airports either. specially. the Miami International Airport aka MIA. Immigration and Emigration have been words used in my family for several generations. From Europe to Latin America, and to the United States, and back to Europe and Latin America. and the US, for over a century. And for the past couple decades we can ad Canada to this large cast of countries and continents were my family members have gone to or left from.

Retrospective

My father was a professional photographer and started his career as a young man circa 1950s, and gave me my first camera at the age of 18 when we moved to Vienna in 1980. This camera was a very heavy, all metal, all manual Voigtländer. I absolutely loved this photographic machine! Margarita

Margarita Island is without a doubt a hidden treasure at the northern point of South America, and I had the pleasure to be there for a couple weeks in the summer of 2008, and fall madly in love with her tropical charm. I was able to visit the entire island thanks to my wife Andreina, who was kind enough to drive me everywhere, and also had the patience to stop every five minutes, to see me climb rocks and walk long beaches to find the stunning images this beautiful island has to offer.

Natural Florida

As someone who moved to Florida over two decades ago, and decided to make this beautiful state my home, I have observed with great dismay, the destruction of Florida's treasured natural places. In the name of progress, more and more of the remaining natural habitat is being replaced by urban sprawl, golf courses, and highways. This state's natural places are not just shrinking, but they are drying up due to the over pumping of the aquifer and rivers to quench the insatiable thirst of human progress.
