The NSM's View. The Western Wall – 28th February 2012. June 5, 2012. From there we went to the Western Wall, which was much quieter than it had been on Friday evening. After our guide had given us his talk I was able to go into the women’s section (women and men are separated by a shoulder-high barrier) and take photos inside and outside the barriers. What’s Jerusalem like? | The NSM's View

The NSM's View. What’s Jerusalem like? June 29, 2012. A ten day visit to Jerusalem and Galilee isn’t enough to do more than scratch the surface of the place. The easiest way to try and explain what it’s like to go there is through photographs. Above is a photo of Damascus Gate; below are photos of a bread stall outside Jaffa Gate, a party of people on Segways, armed police on Temple Mount and the King David Hotel. And finally, a selection of photos taken in the souk and round and about. Error: Twitter di...

The NSM's View. The River Jordan – 1st March 2012. June 5, 2012. From Jericho we travelled north beside the river Jordan, stopping at the place where it’s believed Jesus was baptised by John the Baptist. Here you can look across at the church on the other side of the river, which is in Jordan (the country, not the river). Guns are not allowed in church. Tags: Baptism of Jesus. The NSM's View. Nazareth and the Sea of Galilee – 2nd March 2012. June 22, 2012. Capernaum was the place where Peter lived and where Jesus spent a lot of time; there is an impressive statue of Peter near the remains of what is believed to have been his house. After visiting Capernaum we adjourned to a nearby restaurant to lunch on St. Peter’s Fish. Tags: Basilica of the Annunciation. The River Jordan – 1st March 2012. The NSM's View. Armageddon and Caesarea – 3rd March 2012. June 25, 2012. On our final day we visited Megiddo and Caesarea. Megiddo is on a hill overlooking the Jezreel Valley, where countless battles have been fought, and Armageddon (which means the Mountain of Megiddo) has become the symbol for the battle to end all wars (Revelation 16:16). These days, it has quite a colony of cats. Nazareth and the Sea of Galilee – 2nd March 2012. What’s Jerusalem like? June 27, 2012 at 9:19 pm. Kaie w. bird. Fill in y...
