Seeing Life: Five Minute Friday
http://lifethroughshanaseyes.blogspot.com/p/five-minute-friday.html
Trying to keep it in perspective. Is a community that was started by Lisa Jo Baker. And now meets over at Kate Motaung's place. The object of the game is to write for five minutes without stopping about the assigned writing prompt. Who doesn't like a writing prompt? Then you link your Five Minute post up with others who have taken on the challenge and everyone benefits from the insight and amazingness of the others. Pretty awesome right? You can find the links to my posts below. Five Minute Friday Posts.

Seeing Life: Adoption and Redemption
http://lifethroughshanaseyes.blogspot.com/2013/09/adoption-and-redemption.html
Trying to keep it in perspective. Monday, September 16, 2013. This story really needs to be told for two main reasons:. 1) Because if I don't tell this story, I will forget the details and they are good. 2) There are lots of people who have gotten bits and pieces, but not the whole story and since you good people love us, pray for us, hug us, and cheer us on, you should know. So here's the story. And one week after Cayle's first birthday, I found out I was pregnant with our precious Alaya. God totally.

Seeing Life: Five Minute Friday: Relief
http://lifethroughshanaseyes.blogspot.com/2015/04/five-minute-friday-relief.html
Trying to keep it in perspective. Friday, April 10, 2015. Five Minute Friday: Relief. I feel sad that I know some of you keep checking in hoping for words and there aren't any. A precious friend said this week:. Your writing matters. I know so many people who love to write and feel like it doesn't matter. But your story matters. We need your testimony. The goodness and faithfulness of God bursts forth when you write your story for others.". I can't even. I bawled like a baby. Made me a writer. Labels: Fi...

Seeing Life: Seeing...
http://lifethroughshanaseyes.blogspot.com/2013/09/seeing.html
Trying to keep it in perspective. Friday, September 6, 2013. I think I'm ready now. I've been trying to put words around these thoughts, emotions, scriptures, and images passing through my mind. I'm struggling to articulate it, but maybe as I type, it will come. I know it needs to. God hasn't set this on my heart for nothing. It's big. We need to get it. I need to get it. Think we are too good, or we aren't really. I locked my doors. I've seen this lady before. A couple of months ago actually, asleep...

Seeing Life: NWJH part 2
http://lifethroughshanaseyes.blogspot.com/2014/10/nwjh-part-2.html
Trying to keep it in perspective. Monday, October 6, 2014. If you're just joining us, the beginning of the series starts here. I have so many more pictures beginning this year, and not as many words maybe. Ninth grade was my hardest year up till that point in my life. But I won't get ahead of myself. I was student council president, I had made drill team, I had a boyfriend, and I had a fantastic group of friends. The beginning of ninth grade was any 14 year old's dream. Show everybody you got that. Our c...

Seeing Life: About
http://lifethroughshanaseyes.blogspot.com/p/about.html
Trying to keep it in perspective. Thank you so much for gracing this page with your presence. I'm truly honored. I am 31 years old and was born and raised in Arkansas where I still live today. I can't seem to escape! I really love this state because it's beautiful and my people are here! Dwayne and I always knew we wanted to adopt and we were blessed to be foster parents and now adoptive parents to our three youngest kids. You can read about our adoption journey here. But so far there isn't one published.

Seeing Life: The Race Card
http://lifethroughshanaseyes.blogspot.com/2015/03/the-race-card.html
Trying to keep it in perspective. Sunday, March 29, 2015. I realize I've only been missing for two months. I wasn't abducted by aliens, unless you would say that my kids are aliens. I've been busy being a mama, and a homeschool teacher, and trying to let the dust settle. And breathe. And savor. And breathe some more. It feels so good to breathe. The fact that I'm a white mama to black kids. That black people are less important, less smart, more criminal, more dangerous than white people. That there a...
