The purpose of this blog is to document the restoration of an 1830 Greek Revival house in Lawrenceville, Pittsburgh, that was originally built by Dr. Peter Mowry, was sold to the Carnegie Brothers-Thomas and Andrew in 1872, became a Slovenian Eagles Club in 1921, and became home to the Pittsburgh Electric Club in 1973. The Electric Club is still located in the basement of the house and the upper three floors are being restored and renovated as a single family house.

This house was built in 1830 on a 100 acre tract of land, a ribbon farm that extended from the Allegheny River in a straight line up over some rolling hills in what is now the neighborhood of Lawrenceville, my favorite neighborhood in Pittsburgh.
