First I was on mount Krn (2245 m) for two days, where I enjoyed beautiful sceneries, a rich flora and some interesting wildlife. Common birds above the treeline were Alpine Accentors Prunella collaris. And Alpine Choughs Pyrrhocorax graculus. Along with Water Pipits Anthus spinoletta. And Wheatears Oenanthe oenanthe.

In its full glory - widely distributed along the rocky slopes of Čaven, but only 5 or 6 flowering bushes found yesterday. Family) a true endemic of Trnovski gozd, found only here and nowhere else in the world! Discovered in 1819 by Franc Hladnik. Note the distinctive leaves (second pic). Found on open grassy slopes. About 10-15 of these yesterday. View towards the Trnovo forest.
