Carol's knitting page: binder clips
http://carol-myknittingpage.blogspot.com/2011/08/binder-clips.html
Wednesday, August 24, 2011. Just a short post. I really like using binder clips for intarsia. For the project I'm currently working on, I have every other strand of yarn on yarn bobbins. The rest of the yarn is wound into balls and clipped onto the project with binder clips. Binder clips are a bit heavy, but the yarn doesn't get tangled. Yarn bobbins are lighter, but the yarn often does get tangled. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Crossing Paths Women's Socks. Feather Lace Women's Socks.

Carol's knitting page: Trek Potholder
http://carol-myknittingpage.blogspot.com/2011/03/trek-potholder.html
Saturday, March 19, 2011. I really like the potholder I made for NerdWars. On Ravelry) this month. (I used Peaches and Creme and size 7 needles.) Ilana MacDonald's pattern can be found here. It's my first try at double knitting. It took me quite a few tries to get it looking the way I'd like. And, as a bonus, my gauge got more nearly even with each try. ;). I probably did the edges "incorrectly". But, at least, they're something I like. Here are my adventures:. Its a trekkie pot holder!

Wednesday, February 4, 2009. Some terminology before I forget it. Quoting Elizabeth Lovick (from a Yahoo! Peerie is the Shetland word for peedie. (And little is the English word for peedie! The peeries are the patterns of 1 to 4 or 5 rows deep. The boarders [borders] are the next size up - from about 7 to about 11 rows deep. After that come the OXOs and stars.". Since I've been knitting i-cords recently for the first time for a while, I thought I'd post about a couple alternatives - a twisted cord and a crocheted cord. The other cord, a crocheted cord, is a lot like a knitted i-cord. Here's one way to make the cord:. Make a ch-4 loop. Rnd 1: sc 6 into loop. Sc 3 in 2nd chain f...

Monday, January 11, 2010. Oven-cooked pork and potatoes. This is an example of why my recipes never turn out the same. But, it did turn out pretty well and was a nice way to use leftover pork chops. I saw an interesting recipe for cooking beef tips and potatoes in the oven. It turned out, after I started, that the only ingredients I had at home were the potatoes, salt, pepper, and olive oil. Here's the recipe:. Peel and cut up potatoes and place in pan. (- used a 9" x 6" pan.). Drizzle with olive oil.

Wednesday, February 10, 2010. Recently, I wanted to fix some Stroganoff for supper. (It's a long story. But, whenever I hear a mention of food poisoning, I get hungry for Stroganoff. Sometimes, negative reinforcement doesn't work.) I had most of the ingredients, and the rest I could substitute for. But, I didn't have any egg noodles. I remember that my grandmother used to make egg noodles and dry them over the backs of chairs. So, I decided to try. Here's a basic recipe:. 1 egg, beaten. 1/2 t garlic salt.

Combine all. Add to cooked shredded pork (had about 1 1/2 pounds left-over cooked pork). Cook in oven over medium heat. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

I have 3 brothers, none of whom I grew up with. This just talks about how we met. Friday, 17 December 2010. The first visit from my Dad's son, Philip. The day had come! I was up with the lark, and so excited! Philip and his wife Dawn, drove down to Bristol from Preston. As I mentioned earlier, me and mum were living in the same area, about 4 homes apart. I went there to wait. Every car that we heard drive by, we leapt to the window. Yes, there he is.driving a Volvo, (That was a shock! Philip is compiling...

As I was making another kitchen towel hanger, I thought to myself: I add beads to knitting, It shouldn't be that much more difficult to add a button while crocheting. It turned out to be relatively easy. All one needs to do is pull chain sts through 1 or 2 button holes:. The second after pulling ch sts through the 2nd hole.

Tuesday, October 24, 2017. Stretchy cast on for ribbed edge. After watching Garnstudio's video. I thought to myself that there must be a way to work the cast on while holding the yarn in the left hand. Here are written directions for doing so. The cast on is very stretchy and works for both 1x1 and 2x2 ribbing. Make slip knot on LHN. (The slip knot is not counted as a cast on stitch and will be slipped off needle later.).
