In the hospital that is…. My dad and I woke up around 9 or 10am Sunday morning, I can’t remember exactly. Mattea had a sleep-over with her cousin and was still at her house, so Anne was able to come early for the day. We hung out in the room with my dad while Amanda and Hannah came to pick him up. Thought it was time for an update since it has now been over 2 weeks since my surgery. After about 4 days of heavy steroids the allergic reaction cleared up. I’m on the 5th floor now which is where I will stay until I leave. I’m still plugged into an IV pole through my central line but that’s it, all other peripheral lines have been disconnected. As we cultivate a grateful attitude, we are more likely to be happy. Tuesday, October 27, 2009. Finally, a Date. December 18 (In 2009 thankfully! We heard from James at Duke yesterday that things were coming together for a date, then got confirmation later (through an automated email from Duke Medicine). It is kind of a ways off (51 days but who's counting? The tumor is thought to be slow growing and likely benign which buys some time. It was hard to find a day when they were both in town and available.
