We chose the easy way (my husband is seventy and has a heart and hip condition) taking the shortest walk up to Cascade Falls. It is stunning, refreshing, and the falls can be seen close up, even wading if you like, so we were not disappointed. (As always, use caution when walking near waterfalls. Ledges are steep and rocks can be slippery from unseen algae.). We stayed at the Singletree Gun and Plough.

Sunday, May 3, 2015. A Face only a Mother Could Love. I finally got some pictures of Norfolk Southern's Illinois Terminal Heritage engine in Jonesborough! Most Excellent. I'd seen it once before over in Norton Va, and got some nice pics of it sitting the Norton yard, but this is better. Sunday, September 7, 2014. It's been a really good weekend for catching Norfolk Southern Heritage motors. The third new one for of this weekend was the only one I'd planned on, go figure. The NS1074 Delaware Lackawanna and Western came through earlier in week on 16T so I knew there was a chance it would come back on 15T this weekend . and it did! I finally got a chance to catch one of my favorite paint jobs on a Heritage engine: the tuxedo paint scheme on the Savannah and Atlanta. Friday, March 20, 2015. Original Norfolk Southern 8114. The 8114 came back through leading 201, it was another after dark opportunity, but at least this time it wasn't raining.
