Although the first day of kindergarten was some time ago, way back in august, i think this is one story worth telling. Our first day was anything but that. Here in switzerland, the first day of kindergarten is just 2 hours in the afternoon. so when my darling daughter woke up at 5:30 am, i knew it was going to be a long day. She woke up, looked at me with big eyes and asked: 'mom, am i going to kindergarten today? I told her, 'yeah! Are you excited to go? She said, 'of course mom! Such a sassy young lady.

It has been a while, and so many things have happened since i last wrote. everything around us is truning green, flowers have bloomed and the pollen has taken over every surface on our balcony. I'm thinking of going to visit gabriela in london this summer before it's too late. i know i should be saving, but i can't pass up the opportunity to go to london. it's one of those places that i've always wanted to go to. maybe i'm romanticizing a bit? I'll keep you all updated. wow it's almost may!

As the year is coming to an end. This has been a year of change, big decisions and many adventures. i have taken many steps forwards, and some backwards, but those are necessary as well in order to learn more about the people around you and, most importantly, about yourself. Graduation, going on a road trip, and moving to Switzerland have all been some of the bigger events this year. oh and spending my first Christmas without my family. I LOVE YOU SO MUCH. So much can happen over a 12 month period. from making the decision to stay in switzerland, to finding a job, a boyfriend, getting a dog for my birthday and. Italy was amazing. hot days, warm evenings and seafood to die for. family outings and walks on the beach. oh and two pregnant women - bickering about the heat and walking for hours. well, not actually bickering, more like keeping it to ourselves because we wanted everyone to enjoy the vacation and not worry about us. I feel like time is just slipping through my fingers. everything is going by so fast. I have now been at the Metzgerstübli for 3 weeks and have enjoyed all of it. it's so much more informative than applebee's ever was. i'm learning so much about wine and service, it's amazing. for the first three weeks of 'training', i didn't get any tips, but saturday night was my first night all by myself and i got tip. yay! Did i mention that we are making a thanksgiving dinner here in switzerland? Links to this post.
