Fall Color in California
http://www.calphoto.com/fall.htm
Waldport, OR 97394. Online classes and schedule can be found here. You can take a look at Carol Leigh's blog here. I've been publishing fall color reports here at calphoto.com for around 16 years. I thank all of you who kindly provided me with fall foliage reports year after year so that I could consolidate them all here. Your generous sharing of information helped hundreds, if not thousands, of folks glory in the changing of the seasons in California. Great site for fall color info in the eastern Sierra.

Sandra's Mixed Bag: November 2014
http://sandrasmixedbag.blogspot.com/2014_11_01_archive.html
Sunday, November 2, 2014. A creation from the mind of Danny Gregory, has offered a series of classes that are very informative and inspiring. There is a get moving. No excuses attitude from each of the talented instructors. The realization is that there are many styles of drawing and all are correct. One just needs to do it! This mandala is done with micron pens in a moleskin journal. Figures are another challenge. So much that they even stand on the heads of others! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Sandra's Mixed Bag: CELEBRATION
http://sandrasmixedbag.blogspot.com/2015/07/celebration.html
Friday, July 31, 2015. Decided that Celebration is the name for this wall hanging. I've used some hand dyed fabrics as well as commercial material. There is machine and hand quilting and sewn bead work. Although this is certainly not a drawing, the lessons learned by drawing and painting are applied to this medium. It was fun watching this piece unfold. Oh yes, I added a multi colored yarn. There was joy in the making. It is a beautiful piece! August 1, 2015 at 11:39 AM. A work of art, so beautiful!

Sandra's Mixed Bag: July 2014
http://sandrasmixedbag.blogspot.com/2014_07_01_archive.html
Wednesday, July 30, 2014. Painting and dyeing on silk has been one of my latest interests. The colorful squares are from fabric that I dyed and the purple background is hand dyed silk that was a pair of pants. This is a close up that shows the beadwork that I added. My latest piece is one that I painted, lettered, quilted and beaded. I'm just learning this technique, so there is lots of experimenting to try. The few beads are on the rose petals. Monday, July 14, 2014. Gift for Hole in One.

visualeigh: When life gives you sunshine, go for the shadows
http://visualeigh.blogspot.com/2013/01/when-life-gives-you-sunshine-go-for.html
Adventures in composition, seeing, and inspiration for photographers and visual artists of all types. Wednesday, January 16, 2013. When life gives you sunshine, go for the shadows. A car show at Lake Tahoe where, as you may know, when it's sunny, it's REALLY sunny! Instead of bemoaning my fate (I much prefer soft, overcast light when shooting car shows), I looked at what the light was giving me: bold shadows. So I incorporated those shadows into my compositions as you see here. ©Carol Leigh.
