Threads from the fabric of my life…. Weavers Garden – Flower Journal 2015. Threads from the past. Picking the beans →. July 25, 2015. A gentle stroll around the garden and I return with a full bunch of frilly scented sweet peas. They have been flowering for over a month now, and the more you pick the more you get. Yesterday’s heavy rain seems to have given them fresh impetus, and I have two vases full on the window sill, wafting their scent towards me as I write this. This entry was posted in creativity.

Threads from the fabric of my life…. Weavers Garden – Flower Journal 2015. Creative legacies →. Wicklow hills and Haughton ancestors. June 25, 2014. Writing this post to the sound of pouring rain outside our hotel window, the wonderful spell of sunny dry weather finally broke this afternoon. Then we drove on into the Wicklow mountains to Glendalough, a monastic settlement founded by St Kevin in the 6th century. We sat for a while absorbing the peace of the Upper lake. Threads from the fabric of my life…. Weavers Garden – Flower Journal 2015. Land of my father. Castles and coastland →. June 20, 2014. After a good breakfast we left our bed and breakfast in Newry and drove a short distance to Bessbrook. In Portadown we found the home of my Great grandparents, Thomas Jackson and Gilbertina Newsome Greeves. Thomas had this house built in 1906, and my father visited it many times in his youth. It was, and still is, called Fairacre. Next we headed along the motorway towards ...
