Welcome to Carrbridge Artists Studio Website. The gallery is devoted to the work of Jeff, Alice and Amy Louise Buttress. Original Paintings, Prints, Ceramics, Chainsaw Carvings, Leaded Glass, Dichroic Glass and Ceramic Jewellery, Chainsaw Carvings and Digital Artwork. The gallery is open all year but hours may vary during the winter months. We would advise telephoning first if you are making a long journey to visit us to avoid disappointment. I am very lucky to live in the lovely Highland village of Carrbridge in the Cairngorms National Park where I have my pottery workshop and gallery. I have been working with clay for the past 20 years, and I continue to find it an inspiring medium and the artistic creative process an exciting challenge. I sell my work mainly from exhibitions and from our gallery in Carrbridge which I share with my artist husband Jeff. I am a member of the following associations with whom I exhibit regularly:.

Our Introduction to Carving. We also attended a certified course in Chainsaw Crosscutting/Safety/Maintenance at the Scottish School of Forestry in Inverness. Apart from the obvious benefits of specialised training, this certificate enabled us to get Public Liability Insurance for Carving events. We use chainsaw of various sizes, but the one essential is a chainsaw with a special carving bar, this has a narrower tip than normal chainsaws and enables the carver to achieve greater detail.

Carrbridge is also well known as the original Scottish Ski village and home of Scottish Skiing as it was here that the pioneering Austrian instructor Karl Fuchs founded what was Scotlands first professional Ski school.
