Saturday, December 31, 2011. 2011 Year in Review. Even though I have a blog with more frequent updates, it’s still nice to put a summary of the year together. Plus, it’s a tradition! We had a Johanson family reunion in Las Vegas in May to commemorate my parents’ 40th anniversary. I’m so glad that everyone was able to make it. There were 26 of us. Tuesday, February 28, 2012. So… people have been asking. Do we have a date yet? Our current plan is to get married the middle of June in Utah, with a June 30 reception in northern Virginia. We have selected a timeframe for our wedding, but we will not be finalizing the time and location of the wedding until we hear about permission to be sealed in the temple. Sunday, May 27, 2012. So, we forgot to take pictures once everyone came to help, but a big Thank You to our friends that came to help us prepare our wedding announcements for mailing. I'm sure we will have a few more stories, but here are a few of my favorites so far. I sent separate announcements to roommates at the same address. One received her announcement and the other did not. I still have other friends and relatives who 10 days later haven't received their announcements yet.

Sunday, July 31, 2011. We also took a tour of the lightship Portsmouth, 101-WAL524. I've seen quite a few lightships before, but this was the first time I've been on one. Pretty cool. Sunday, October 30, 2011. I have now been to 47 states! Just Alaska, North Dakota, and Alabama yet to go. It was a little past peak to go for the leaf peeping in Vermont, but there were still some great views. The weather was a little chilly, but otherwise not bad. There was a dusting of snow early Sunday morning, but that was gone quickly. Plus I was able to avoid the downpour and storms that DC and much of the northeast U.S. experienced. Thursday, June 14, 2012. James and I flew to Utah on June 14. We missed most of the Williams family reunion that day, but were able to make if for the pictures and pasty dinner. Pasties are a meat and potato pie, and a family tradition.
