Reflections of a lifelong learner
Carry on Learning: June 2014
http://carryonlearning.blogspot.com/2014_06_01_archive.html
Reflections of a lifelong learner. Saturday, June 7, 2014. When I was previously chewing over the issue of homework, which I blogged about here. I received a terrific response to the crowd-sourced document. With a range of different approaches being added. I subsequently created my own half term documents for maths. Because of its success I have created a similar homework document for our seaside topic this half term, which incorporates some spelling investigations too. I can't wait to see what they ...
Carry on Learning: November 2014

Reflections of a lifelong learner. Saturday, November 29, 2014. Another super little app for early programming. Like ALEX this will appeal to my year 2 children because it involves robots. There are some great things about this free app too. Firstly, you have to complete the first levels before you can unlock and access the harder ones. There are 24 levels altogether- pretty good for a freebie! With turns, grabs and drops. The notion of 'if at first you don't succeed.' is great, but I don't want chil...
Carry on Learning: Bugs and buttons
http://carryonlearning.blogspot.com/2015/05/bugs-and-buttons.html
Reflections of a lifelong learner. Sunday, May 3, 2015. This morning I am exploring some more apps that are great for EYFS and children with SEN in ks1. Little Bit studio have made a range of 'bug' apps that look beautiful, because of the brightly coloured high-definition graphics. They definitely feel like the high quality resource you would want to be using in the classroom. I will share her views once I have them. A quick snapshot of some of the games. Here are the other games that you can play. Find ...
Carry on Learning: Blox 3d world
http://carryonlearning.blogspot.com/2015/04/blox-3d-world.html
Reflections of a lifelong learner. Friday, April 24, 2015. This evening I've been having a quick play with Blox 3d world, which was free yesterday via apps gone free. I liked the look of it because it reminded me of kodu, but on the iPad. Granted it doesn't allow you to program elements like kodu, in fact it is very basic, but I've still had fun creating my very own Westeros. There are some tutorials that you can watch, which will show you how to create things based on the type of world you want to build.
Carry on Learning: May 2015
http://carryonlearning.blogspot.com/2015_05_01_archive.html
Reflections of a lifelong learner. Saturday, May 16, 2015. I have long been a fan of the Rising Stars Switched on ICT units because of the way that they cover ICT in a creative way, supporting teachers who have low confidence in covering he curriculum. With the move to the computing curriculum, Rising Stars have responded quickly, with a set of Learn to Code books, written by Claire Lotriet @ohlottie. Ensuring the Scratch instructions work! So my year 5 code club (which includes some digital leaders) hav...

My fun afternoon, or how not to get a NZ passport photo taken overseas. August 7, 2014. August 7, 2014. Findlay’s passport is up for renewal next month. This is a good thing, because his last one was issued when he was just 2 months old and he hasn’t looked anything like that photo for at least the past four and a half years! But, we still had 9 months left until it was due to expire at that point, and they’re only valid for 5 years, so I kind of wanted to get my money’s worth! Or so I thought! I paid th...
Carry On, Ladies! | For where we are…and where we wish to be.
Carry On, Ladies! For where we are…and where we wish to be. Military Veterans, Athletes and CTE. No Does that make the PTS any less severe? Co-author Robert Cantu, MD, stated, While it remains unknown what level of exposure to brain trauma is required to trigger CTE, there is no available evidence that occasional, isolated or well-managed concussions give rise to CTE. This statement should rattle the veteran and caregiver population for a number of reasons. Get buddy statements now! January 2, 2015.

Carry On Laughing - Home - The Carry On Films
Thank you for visiting CarryOnLaughing.co.uk. The british comedy is loved for its quirky and tongue in cheek, unique humour and popular comedy films have included 'Four Weddings and a Funeral' and 'St Trinians', which has recently been remade. The act of laughing has been shown to be good for our health, working leg, back and stomach muscles as well as de-stressing us and making a heart attack less likely! There are three main theories about why and what we find funny. Drop Us A Line.
Carry on Learning
Reflections of a lifelong learner. Sunday, February 19, 2017. I attended a course recently that brought Hattie's work to the forefront of my mind again. I have returned to his Visible Learning. Book a few times since a teachmeet friend (JP) related Hattie's work to his own forest school work. It made a lot of sense. As far as impact goes, Hattie. In this recent course we were told how research shows that the greatest impact on learning is student self belief / expectations of themselves. Despite my effor...

Carry-On Life | Travel long, travel light
Travel long, travel light. First steps to a carry-on life. Broke and unemployed is not the most promising start when your goal is to become a full-time traveler. The things we own. I've entered a new process: documenting everything I own. It sounds a little crazy to take a picture of everything you own and post it. Don’t want to look like a backpacker, but love the convenience of the backpack? Designed by bavotasan.com.
