A corrosively trenchant man who drives a cart. Wednesday, April 11, 2007. Why I don't buy Fairtrade. The end result though is that I steer clear of most Fairtrade products now - I just can't be bothered with the hassle of throwing half of each product in the bin. Caustic Carter: Marmite. Did you know...

http://carterblurb.blogspot.com/2006/11/marmite-did-you-know.html

A corrosively trenchant man who drives a cart. Tuesday, November 21, 2006. Marmite. Did you know. You either love it or hate it. But regardless of its culinary properties - Marmite has been found to have a wonderful property. Read below fellow Marmitians. Marmite, it seems, can cure this. A healthy dollop of marmite spread liberally across your sideburns and left to 'mature' or 'marinate' overnight can give a long lasting dye affect for weeks and weeks. Marmite your sins away. Do it.

Caustic Carter: That time of year again...

http://carterblurb.blogspot.com/2006/09/that-time-of-year-again.html

A corrosively trenchant man who drives a cart. Monday, September 25, 2006. That time of year again. I've been at uni for seven long years now - almost finished though! Throughout that time I've noticed a slow, but inevitable, change in my attitude towards new students. For current students, new arrivals also means fresh talent potential. Yay again! It all soon loses its edge though - after being there, doing that, and making a mess of a perfectly good t-shirt. it soon wears off. So for now, freshers, I'm...

Caustic Carter: July 2006

A corrosively trenchant man who drives a cart. Wednesday, July 12, 2006. I think the department cleaner in the building that I work in is taunting me and my fellow colleagues. I think "Cleaners' 101" states that cleaners working or intending to work in the opposite sex toilets must leave enough cleaning utensils and products outside the toilet door to let potential bladder or bowel emptying clientel know to cross their legs and wait for the all clear. Caustic Carter: Floaters

http://carterblurb.blogspot.com/2006/11/floaters.html

A corrosively trenchant man who drives a cart. Tuesday, November 28, 2006. On my way into work I walk across the River Thames - between London Waterloo and Embankment. Last week, whilst making this now habitual trek, I saw what turned out to be a human body floating face down the river. Anyhow - I stuck around for a bit too long (to rubber neck) - and morbidly watched the guys down by the pier go out and fetch it/him/her. Then I tootled off to work (now late). MTB Wannabe: S is for...?

http://bikeblurb.blogspot.com/2006/05/s-is-for.html

Random ramblings about fixing up my bike and riding it. . hopefully! Friday, May 26, 2006. As I imagine any MTBer does when he/she/it is in the process of giving their bike a makeover, I came across the issue of which shifting brand(s) to go with. The big two being, of course, Shimano. All the bikes I've previously ridden have been equipped with Shimano of some form or another so I've decided to give SRAM a try. Posted by ugli-stix at 5/26/2006 03:14:00 PM. Links to this post:. MTB Wannabe: Saddle Sore

http://bikeblurb.blogspot.com/2006/05/saddle-sore.html

Random ramblings about fixing up my bike and riding it. . hopefully! Monday, May 29, 2006. Got myself some more parts. Following on from my SRAM decision I've gone and purchased (again from eBay):. SRAM PG980 9 speed cassette. SRAM PC991 9 speed chain. When the shifters turned up they didn't have any cable hosing - so I got myself a Transfil Black Snake Gear Cable set. I guess I'll find out soon enough! Posted by ugli-stix at 5/29/2006 01:20:00 PM. Links to this post:. View my complete profile.

MTB Wannabe: Cable worries

http://bikeblurb.blogspot.com/2006/06/cable-worries.html

Random ramblings about fixing up my bike and riding it. . hopefully! Tuesday, June 06, 2006. Just a follow up on the status of my brakes. The front brake is still useless and I'm still thinking of ideas - currently along the lines of spacing out the disc from the hub far enough to mount the caliper on the outside of the fork mount. On the rear brake issue I've decided to follow some advice from the people down at the MBUK. I'll hopefully be able to secure it to my frame without tacky looking zip-ties.

MTB Wannabe: May 2006

http://bikeblurb.blogspot.com/2006_05_01_archive.html

Random ramblings about fixing up my bike and riding it. . hopefully! Wednesday, May 31, 2006. Well - following yesterday's discovery that the paint job on the Cinder Cone is not very resistant to scratching and chipping, I have done something drastic. I've bought a new frame. Its ok though - its a Kona, but not a Cinder Cone. Its a 2005 Kona Blast. And the forks for free! Oh well - so ends the dream of renovating the old Cinder Cone frame! Perhaps. Programming and Web Design? Tuesday, May 30, 2006. Quite randomly I noticed today that of my three blogs on blogspot.com, two of them have the blogger.com url bar logo but this blog has a generic internet/world logo given to it by Firefox. Strange. Technological Nourishment: June 2006

http://technoblurb.blogspot.com/2006_06_01_archive.html

Perhaps. Programming and Web Design? Wednesday, June 21, 2006. Although I've had my Mac for a few years now, every once in a while I stumble across a program that I had never known existed. Today I found Omnigraffle. For those who haven't used or heard of Omnigraffle, let me give you a quick intro: its a standalone application that is part of the Omnigroup. One of the nice things about this program is its simplicity. To build a flow chart you simply drag the required shapes off of the "FlowChart" pal...

Random ramblings about fixing up my bike and riding it. . hopefully! Monday, June 12, 2006. You fix some, you break some. Pictures to come soon). The front brake was fixed with a lot more fiddling of the positioning of the caliper's mounting position on the forks. Posted by ugli-stix at 6/12/2006 11:56:00 AM. Links to this post:. http://bikeblurb.blogspot.com/2006/06/i-just-cant-stop.html

Random ramblings about fixing up my bike and riding it. . hopefully! Monday, June 05, 2006. I just can't stop. Now here's my problem(s):. That's how my bike currently stands. For the rear I'm left with the option of buying new cable housing (which apparently Transfil don't do separately! For the front I have no idea what to do.
