Obsessive Consumption - What Did You Buy Today? I just discovered this site Obesessive Consumption - What Did You Buy Today. I am just in love with it! Has such a creative and interesting style of writing/drawing her script. She catalogs her journey through consumerism with the cutest illustrations, and obsessive-script lettering. I have ever seen! Although I had never been to her site - I am definitely familiar with her work from the magazine Ready-Made. The illustrations for the book Handmade Nation.

Broke, Bohemian & Gorgeous!: Safe, Natural and Non-Toxic Hair Dye: Use Henna!
http://www.brokebohogojo.com/2009/10/safe-natural-and-non-toxic-hair-dye-use.html
Safe, Natural and Non-Toxic Hair Dye: Use Henna! A safe, non-toxic, inexpensive and natural alternative to conventional dyeing is using henna! Henna (from the henna plant) can be purchased in powder or paste form from any natural food store or Indian import store. This is the ink that traditionally Indian woman use to draw beautiful designs on their hands, feet and body. Thus a 'henna tattoo.'. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Search This Blog for Fashion! Broke, Bohemian & Gorgeous!: Amanda Wachob: Abstract Tattoo Artist
http://www.brokebohogojo.com/2009/12/amanda-wachob-abstract-tattoo-artist.html
Amanda Wachob: Abstract Tattoo Artist. I don't have any. Lame I know. This can be a touchy subject - for some people feel very strongly negatively or positively about whether tattooing the body is socially acceptable, beautiful, trashy etc, etc, the debate goes on and on and usually between the younger and older generations. I think some tattoos are not so beautiful and others are, and sometimes beauty is not the point of the tattoo either. I stumbled across Amanda Wachob. Search This Blog for Fashion!

Editorial: The Beauty that We Create. Maybe you are out of a job, or perhaps your company is encouraging you to work more from home to save on overhead costs- but either way more and more Americans are spending more time at home. I think this is great! Not the jobless part, but the homebody part. Being at home is awesome! If we like having our personal space as an oasis, organized to our standards of comfort and beauty what about the rest of the world- as our space? I think perhaps a good meditation is t...

Broke, Bohemian & Gorgeous!: Not Your Mother's Tie-Dye
http://www.brokebohogojo.com/2009/12/not-your-mothers-tie-dye.html
Not Your Mother's Tie-Dye. Are the 80's as a source of inspiration over? Colorful tie-dye is showing up in Spring collections (reminiscent of the free-swinging 70's? It's a nice deviance from all of the hard lines and dark 80's themes that are circulating on the runway. I am a big fan of ikat weaving/prints. And modern tie-dye techniques, so I like this fun mini-trend. We shall wait and see how it unfolds in spring 2010 across all types of clothing categories and if tie-dye is destined for a revival!
