Essentially no biking allowed in the Detroit and Sweet Home Ranger districts, due to extensive use of wilderness area, a popular trend on the west-side of the Cascade range (near densely populated areas). Areas offer plenty of wilderness hiking opportunities, and Santiam Pass is a very popular XC Ski destination (4WD nearly always required in winter and bring chains, survival gear, extra food, gps, etc).
