In our own words. Common thoughts on fear, freedom, God, and such…. A Promise For Those Who Mourn. We are in desperate need of Jesus’ words, spoken long ago to a crowd gathered on a hillside. While we may not be able to connect to all that the divine teacher had to say, at least on this point, little translation is necessary. This past week, the nation has mourned the death of an…. In our own words. Common thoughts on fear, freedom, God, and such…. March 10, 2015. Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Jesus started out his inaugural sermon in Matthew’s retelling with a promise that those we know as poor are the ones who possess the kingdom of heaven. The crowd immediately knew that this was a different type of teacher than they had grown accustomed to hearing. This pronouncement of blessing and promise to those who are pe...

The kingdom of the earth belongs to the tireless. The kingdom of the earth belongs to those who can walk the fine line between self-promotion and humility. In our own words. Common thoughts on fear, freedom, God, and such…. The Insatiability of Hope. August 25, 2014. Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be satisfied. Today, we grieve that precious little has changed in the past 51 years. But our grief is not enough. What we need is an insatiable hunger to see justice winning the day. What we need is an unquenchable thirst for righteousness to overcome us. But what about the church? August 25, 2014. In Freedom and Play.

Parker's Pensées: Paris, Charlie, and the Lost Science of Theology
http://parkerwindle.blogspot.com/2015/01/paris-charlie-and-lost-science-of.html
Monday, January 12, 2015. Paris, Charlie, and the Lost Science of Theology. I like school. I know I am weird. Enter Muslim terrorists with guns. Let them collide with Charlie, a publication that has no filter and seems to think that the things it says have no consequences. One side will not tolerate. There is a way to clea...

Where Do Babies Come From?
Where Do Babies Come From? Sunday, March 24, 2013. JCH is out of town and little man and I are having some serious “mommy and me” time. No reason to cook or clean and no additional “wife duties” on top of my “mom duties”. Yes, I am letting my “inner slob” out! I’m reading “Brain Rules for Baby:. How to Raise a Smart and Happy Child from Zero to Five” by John Medina and it is a fabulous read. A rather interesting fact that I came across in this book:.
