ITP stands for immune thrombocytopenia (THROM-bo-si-toe-PE-ne-ah) purpura (PURR-purr-ah). It is a bleeding. Disorder characterized by low platelet counts and excessive bruising. More is being learned about the. Autoimmune nature of the disease as a result of research. Tiny red dots on the skin, called petechiae (peh-TEE-kee-ay) might also appear due to bleeding under the skin. The person might have nosebleeds that are hard to stop, bleeding in the intestines, or abnormally heavy menstrual cycles. Adult I...

Casey’s Cause was incorporated in March 2007 by a group of family and friends of Casey Marie Grant, a seven-year old girl who was diagnosed with Immune Thrombocytopenia (THROM-bo-si-toe-PE-ne-ah) Purpura (ITP), a rare blood platelet disorder. Nine days after being diagnosed, Casey passed away on January 25, 2007 from a massive hemorrhage. The loss of Casey has driven us to help others learn more about this disorder. Casey’s Cause has four main mission areas.

It was very dense and kind of reminded me of dry concrete mix! Here I am spreading Mitch's ashes. And my brother Kurt. Here's Lucas during our catfish outing at night. He has a fish on here. And this is what he caught. Man o man, was he upset! Lucas battles one too, though not as big. Here's a sheephead I caught.

Birthday's are my absolute favorite! The party-throwing, the giggles, the gifts, the cake! Yesterday we threw a joint birthday party (sorry poor-third-child Nolan! For Maddie and Nolan. We had lots of family visiting, treats eaten and so much love shared. I really do not know how time has flown by that I now have a three-year old girl and my baby is one! What a wonderful day full of celebration though. I think I have had more check-ups in the past month from "Doc McMaddie" than I have in my lifetime!
