She earned her Bachelor of Music degree in violin performance from the Oberlin Conservatory of Music, where she studied both modern and baroque violin with Marilyn McDonald. Simultaneously, her love of English literature drove her to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree from Oberlin College's prestigious double degree program.
