Mel's Lost the Plot!: May 2012
http://mels-lost-the-plot.blogspot.com/2012_05_01_archive.html
Mel's Lost the Plot! Saturday, 12 May 2012. A dry day at last! I've been so rubbish at keeping this blog this year! I've still been planting stuff. It's been so horrible for weeks though. And then of course there was my wedding! But finally we have a dry day and we've been able to spend some time at the allotment :-). And just to show you the potato patch before it turns into a weed patch like the rest of my allotment! This is supposed to be my onion patch. There are definitely onions in there somewhere!

Mel's Lost the Plot! Sunday, 16 October 2011. A well overdue update. Sorry I've not been around much - busy, busy, busy! I just wanted to share some piccies with you of the stuff I've been bringing back from the allotment. I'm afraid these piccies are now about a month old! A mountain of runner beans, half way though their preparation for the freezer. I cut them up and froze them in family dinner sized portions. My bean structure on the right, my dodgy (but effective! My biggest onion - I was sooo proud!

For a while so I thought it was about time I got around to it! We had a lovely time. There are lots of pretty flowers. And I love the secret garden style little doors you can find. But I was mostly interested in the edibles they are growing. Gooseberries:. All sorts of cabbages, lettuces and beans:. And some more pretty flowers :-). And that on...

http://mels-lost-the-plot.blogspot.com/2012/01/new-year-new-start.html
Mel's Lost the Plot! Thursday, 19 January 2012. A new year, a new start. You may remember in March last year I covered part of my plot in a sheet of black plastic to kill off all the weeds etc. This is what it looked like then:. Well it stayed like that the whole year long but we were finally determined to get it dug. So we wrapped up warm (the temperature on the dashboard said -1oC! So far we've managed to dig this much:. You can just about make them out in with all those weeds! And I'm hoping this phot...

The Adventures Of Two Amateurs On The Allotment. I pop up the allotment most days after work, just to check its okay you know? I’ve grown very fond of my plot. I check on my sweet peas all cosy in the can planters, i check the raspberries are growing up strong against their canes and smile proudly, i nod to my onions and garlic standing tall and straight, and i tut at my floppy rhubarb and then feel bad because I don’t want it to feel like its let me down. But not this time. Prepared to go F*&k S* t up!

The Adventures Of Two Amateurs On The Allotment. Having one of the furthest plots, i walk past many. But while im greeting others with ‘Mornin’ nice day for it! 8217; and nodding like a seasoned pro, on the sly im checking out the weird and wonderful makeshift structures that everybody seems to have, thinking do i need one? And what is it for! Now, a few weeks ago i planted some raspberry canes. I was told they needed support. I mulled this over in my think tank for a while, how shall i do this? I marche...

The Adventures Of Two Amateurs On The Allotment. The first crop is the sweetist…. There it was, hiding shyly in its bed, surrounded by a green blanket of leaves, baring juicy flesh so perfect and enticing. It whispering to me softly ‘eat me, eat meeeee! So i grabbed it, and gobbled it down before it could tease me any longer. Pure sweet bliss in my mouth, eyes wide i turned to my girlfriend and shouted ‘Cor, these strawbs are ‘bostin! The Strawberry in question…. June 30, 2014. Mad About The Borage!
