The Internal Pigdog: December 2009
http://internalpigdog.blogspot.com/2009_12_01_archive.html
Pain is inevitable. Suffering is optional.". Tuesday, December 29, 2009. I’m not usually one for setting out New Year’s resolutions, but I like to set goals. With that in mind, I came up with my five running goals for 2010. 1 Revive the Pigdog. 2 Run a good Boston. 5 Have a running adventure. I haven’t had one of these in a while. Running is fun, at least it should be fun. I want to travel somewhere for a fun race, something like the Reach the Beach relay or a long trail run in a place of t...I started t...

The internal pigdog is what makes people not want to go on. It's the part of you that says, "It's cold out, I'll skip the run." Or, "Wow, 20 miles is plenty, not sure about another six." It's what makes us want to take the easy way out. This blog is about fighting the pigdog. View my complete profile. Others Fighting the Pigdog. Greg on the Run.

The Internal Pigdog: Boston Training: An Assessment
http://internalpigdog.blogspot.com/2010/04/boston-training-assessment.html
Pain is inevitable. Suffering is optional.". Friday, April 2, 2010. Boston Training: An Assessment. Boston is just 17 days away. The main training is finished. It's time to assess. Overall I'm pleased with how it went. I didn't get any major Achilles flareups, and I was able to run a fair amount. Did I run enough? Who knows, probably less than I'd prefer. The last few weeks of training were hard with travel. There's not much you can do about that. Here's my assessment:. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

In the New York Times recounting the story of Jan Baalsrud, a Norwegian resistance fighter during WWII. His story is truly an epic tale of endurance. It's actually beyond endurance, almost reminiscent of all the stuff Pangloss goes through in Candide. Links to this post. Monday, March 1, 2010. The Month in Running. Greg on the Run.

The Internal Pigdog: The Week in Running
http://internalpigdog.blogspot.com/2010/02/week-in-running_14.html
Pain is inevitable. Suffering is optional.". Sunday, February 14, 2010. The Week in Running. For the most part, it was a week to forget. I came down with some kind of illness on Tuesday that threw me for a loop. Then a friend came to town on Thursday. I'm happy with how the week ended, with a very solid weekend, including a nice long run that was done in tough conditions. At this point, I'm pretty hopeful for Boston. February 21, 2010 at 3:56 AM.
