I love finding something other's don't want and making it into something new and usable. These two recent projects were such fun for me to do. I think this is how the Lord must feel when He takes us out of the trash our sin has gotten us into and washes us, cuts. To decorate two t-shirts to match. Now my smaller friend has a new outfit.

Photos and descriptions of hand work by Heather Vaknin and other friends. Thursday, September 17, 2009. It's the Jewish Holiday of Rosh. Here are some boxes I made for the children's teachers. I found the cardboard box form in the shape of a pomegranate and covered the lid with Fimo. The bottom is painted with acrylic and lacquered. I used up some old flower canes I have had since starting to work with Fimo. And decided I need to get going to make some new designs! Here is some jewelry. Them in the comin...

http://heathershands.blogspot.com/2009_05_01_archive.html
Photos and descriptions of hand work by Heather Vaknin and other friends. Sunday, May 31, 2009. Bless the Work of My Hands! One of the first ideas I had to sell to tourists was this flip flop key chain with the Star of David. The hotel liked the idea, but wanted their logo on the sandal. I worked up a sample which came out well, so got an order for 30, than another order for 25. Thus the name of my blog and "compay". Sunday, May 24, 2009. Fruits of the Spirit. In July I decided to make a Seven Species of...

Heather's Hands: What's in a Name?
http://heathershands.blogspot.com/2009/11/whats-in-name.html
Photos and descriptions of hand work by Heather Vaknin and other friends. Wednesday, November 25, 2009. What's in a Name? I think quite a lot is contained in a name. I like making personal things for people with their name. It means it's only for them - especially for them. I hope my nieces liked these letters. I made them to show how special I think they are - I hope to make more for others. This is an old project - my friends idea for a baby gift. The baby and the brother. Whats in a Name?

Fruits of the Spirit. In the summer of 2008 I decided to learn a new craft. Together with my friend Kyoung-Im I took 6 lessons from a wonderful woman on how to make things with Fimo. For those of you who don't know what that is, it's a polymere clay that you mold and then bake to make it hard. One afternoon another friend was...
