Saturday, April 18, 2015. It's said that here in the Keys we have two seasons, tourist and hurricane, one just ended and things are slowing down around here so I'm hoping to get back to blogging. I made this just before Easter, when chocolate bunnies were dancing in my head. I call this guy Jazzy Peter :). I'm linking up with the Creative Goodness. Party over at QuiltShopGal's. Blog (formerly know as SewCalGal). I've been wanting to join in since she started it months ago. Posted by Dana Gaffney. I love ...

http://stormy-daysblog.blogspot.com/2015/04/lets-book-it-for-march.html
Friday, April 3, 2015. Let's Book It" for March. I was afraid I was going to miss the link up for Let's Book It. For my Let's Book It I used this:. It's from Winter 2013/14. I had been working on a HST quilt, beautiful but by the end I wanted something quick and easy, so I picked this:. I had a fat quarter of bright batiks I wanted to use and thought this would be perfect with all of the white. It was easy and quick to make and I like how it turned out,. BUT the pattern called. Stormy Days: June 2014
http://stormy-daysblog.blogspot.com/2014_06_01_archive.html
Saturday, June 28, 2014. Let's Book It for June. It's time again for the "Let's Book It". Link up, Sharon at Vroomans Quilts. Idea to give us a gentle push to make quilts we already wanted to make, genius right? The T-Shirt quilt I made took up a big part of June, but I managed to make this adorable quilt. They're not elephants, but who doesn't like a nice bright duck? I used this Just Ducky pattern by Bonnie Johnson and Loretta Shriner. I just happened to have the duck die for my GO! First let me thank ...

Stormy Days: Summer Flowers
http://stormy-daysblog.blogspot.com/2015/04/summer-flowers.html
Saturday, April 25, 2015. Sometimes, just before I fall asleep I'll see a quilt in my head, if I can remember it in the morning it's usually some impossible curving thing that is probably my brain saying I should be painting. I remembered this one and I even know where it came from. I've been asked to make a Dresden throw with heavy quilting. The heavy quilting is what was really bothering me, how do you quilt a dresden? Now that I've got that out of my system my future holds a more traditional Dresden&#...

Stormy Days: April 2015
http://stormy-daysblog.blogspot.com/2015_04_01_archive.html
Tuesday, April 28, 2015. Let's Book It, April 2015. A few months ago Sharon. Was listing off all of the possible places for patterns to use for the Let's Book It. And she mentioned the internet, light bulb moment, I have a few (many) quilts bookmarked so that's what I used this month. Here's a link to the pattern. Http:/ www.robertkaufman.com/quilting/quilts patterns/spring/. All I saw when I looked at that was what a great string quilt. Think about joining in, I love the "Let's Book It". I've never been...

Stormy Days: January 2015
http://stormy-daysblog.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html
Saturday, January 31, 2015. Let's Book It Jan. Whoops, I have last years badge. With the end of another month it's time for Let's Book It. Over at Vroomans Quilts. I'm so glad Sharon. Decided to continue this linky party, I got rid of 4 magazines this month, the pile is getting smaller. This month I found my quilt in The Quilter Magazine Dec/Jan 2010-11. I almost passed this quilt by because the colors didn't appeal to me. I had just the right fabric for the backing. Can you see those tiny pink hearts?

Stormy Days: May 2014
http://stormy-daysblog.blogspot.com/2014_05_01_archive.html
Saturday, May 31, 2014. New FO for May. Time for the New FO Party. Over at Cat Patches. Better known as the "just start something" party led by the great enabler Barbara. It's always nice to look back at the month and realize, yes I did get something done, crazy busy but still finding time for sewing. First up, a string quilt, it would have been easier to make it with just white blocks, but I love the feel and weight of string quilts plus I had a ton of white strings. This is my "Let's Book It". This is ...

Stormy Days: August 2014
http://stormy-daysblog.blogspot.com/2014_08_01_archive.html
Sunday, August 10, 2014. A Couple of Things. I've always liked the saying "Man plans and God laughs", it's so true. In this house just recently "mom plans and the twins giggle" was the order of the day. Family has had me really busy but, with Pets on Quilt. Coming I planned an easy quilt. So I'm showing it without dogs, first time I didn't have to crop the little buggers out. I used stencils on the white parts. The back is more of my hand dyed fabric. The closest I came to having a picture. I walked arou...

http://stormy-daysblog.blogspot.com/2015/07/lets-book-it-july-2015.html
Wednesday, July 29, 2015. Let's Book It July 2015. Yay it's time for Let's Book It. I knew that Sharon's linky. Would make me climb back up on the blogging horse. Except I kind of messed up, I haven't been sewing a lot so I just grabbed the first magazine in the pile. The Quilter Magazine Dec 2010 - Jan 2011. I started on the marked page. Following the directions I came to a weird step and it hit me, deja poo, I've done this stuff before! I'm happy with it and it got me sewing again. Deja Poo - love it!

Stormy Days: Normal Life
http://stormy-daysblog.blogspot.com/2015/06/normal-life.html
Wednesday, June 24, 2015. I've always said that "normal" is an urban legend and my first day back to "normal" proves it. I walked in the morning with my walking partner, we walked, we laughed and we cried, a few times we had to stop because we couldn't breath, it was wonderful and ridiculous. Yesterday though the universe was very kind. This is Wolfy. Posted by Dana Gaffney. June 24, 2015 at 4:54 PM. Wolfy looks like a sweet dog. Glad he has a new lease on life. Hope the machine gets fixed. Good grief...
