http://catchingtheyogabug.blogspot.com/2014_04_01_archive.html
Catching the Yoga Bug. Occasional musings about yoga and life. Sunday, April 20, 2014. Things I Learned In A Hammock. I just got back from leading a retreat at Ojo Caliente in New Mexico last weekend. If you missed it, I'm sorry. It was pretty awesome. . I appear to have used all of those provided for my row.". This is not how you convince someone that they should follow your career footsteps). 1 If I work this hard for someone else, why don't I work for myself? 2 I need a hammock. Come with me sometime?
Catching the Yoga Bug: Help Me
http://catchingtheyogabug.blogspot.com/2015/03/help-me.html
Catching the Yoga Bug. Occasional musings about yoga and life. Saturday, March 21, 2015. And yet, writing doesn't come easily to me. Writing time is happily consumed by cleaning, until we get close to tax time. Then procrastinating about taxes includes writing (hooray for you, dear reader). And nothing gets me going on my taxes like an impending health test. You know, it's all perspective. You've probably made a list or two yourself. This worked in a few ways. I did indeed survive, although goals b-d...
Catching the Yoga Bug: Desert Flowers
http://catchingtheyogabug.blogspot.com/2015/05/desert-flowers.html
Catching the Yoga Bug. Occasional musings about yoga and life. Saturday, May 2, 2015. And that is everywhere I find myself today. But here in the desert I find solace. I feel as young as I've ever felt and quiet enough to hear the wisdom that I've earned from years of emotional weather. The wind plays with my hair and guides me off the beaten path, urging me somewhere deeper into myself. This is a special time in the desert, because the occasional rainfall inspires even the thorniest plants to bloom.
Catching the Yoga Bug: December 2014
http://catchingtheyogabug.blogspot.com/2014_12_01_archive.html
Catching the Yoga Bug. Occasional musings about yoga and life. Saturday, December 27, 2014. No place (feels like) home. I looked inward and the beauty of my own emptiness filled me till dawn. It enveloped me like a mine of rubies." Rumi. And that's no way to live. But asking for help is the last thing I want to do. What I have realized, again, what I have known always and yet forget on a daily basis, is that I cannot outrun my own demons. Neither, I'm afraid, can you. Despite my deepest wish that I could...

Catching the Yoga Bug. Occasional musings about yoga and life. Friday, October 31, 2014. It has come to my attention that my blog posts are making a few of you a bit weepy. To be sure, I didn't really think anyone was reading this little ol' blog-o, but now I know for real and for certain that many of you are. It means a lot to me. Hilarious, I know). I'd love to tell you that I've done this entirely on my own, like Pippi Longstocking or She-Ra (or any other strong female with gorgeous hair and long sock...

Yoga-Practicing Mindfulness: March 2014
http://yoga-practicing-mindfulness.blogspot.com/2014_03_01_archive.html
Life of a budding yogini, on and off the mat. Friday, March 7, 2014. I am having to re-evaluate most things, including work. My PTO bank is extremely high because I never take time off. Even when I am sick, I work. I constantly feel like I am letting someone down in my life, because I aim to make everyone else happy. So I am going to take my two days, despite issues that are coming up and meetings that I should attend. My co-workers can handle it without me, and notify me of any changes when I return.

Yoga-Practicing Mindfulness: Finding the courage to continue on
http://yoga-practicing-mindfulness.blogspot.com/2015/03/finding-courage-to-continue-on.html
Life of a budding yogini, on and off the mat. Sunday, March 1, 2015. Finding the courage to continue on. Some days are good and some days are bad. We are all human and we have our ups and downs. Some days when I have yoga to teach toward the end of the day, I question myself pretty harshly. I have seen a few posts recently that say the same thing, so I know I'm not alone. The thoughts that go through my head sound pretty abrasive when you read them. Who am I to teach these students? For those who know a ...

Life of a budding yogini, on and off the mat. Saturday, November 29, 2014. The fifth chakra is located in the throat, and is called Vishuddha chakra. It is associated with the ether, the color blue, and helps with self-expression, speaking your truth, identifying with others, purification, and self-fulfillment. When this chakra is imbalanced one might try a pranayama technique of alternate nostril breathing to restore balance. One might also meditate on the mandala seen here. Chanting the word "ham" migh...

Life of a budding yogini, on and off the mat. Friday, July 18, 2014. Listening to your body. When I teach, I remind my students often to listen to their bodies. Yoga-Practicing Mindfulness: Allowing ourselves to be human
http://yoga-practicing-mindfulness.blogspot.com/2014/11/allowing-ourselves-to-be-human.html
Life of a budding yogini, on and off the mat. Friday, November 14, 2014. Allowing ourselves to be human. I love to read, so I read A LOT of blogs throughout the week. Lately, I have noticed a trend and decided I needed to write about it. It seems that everyone is going through some rough times. It happens. We have ups, downs and some coasting throughout our lives. It makes me sad. We are so worried about being happy all the time, that we aren't allowed to be human. We aren't allowed to feel anyth...Human...

Yoga-Practicing Mindfulness: April 2015
http://yoga-practicing-mindfulness.blogspot.com/2015_04_01_archive.html
Life of a budding yogini, on and off the mat. Thursday, April 2, 2015. I have been working for a number of years now and had plenty of interviews in my life. Some have been quick, some have been long and drawn out. One was a panel of three people grilling me for about 10-15 minutes, asking me questions as quickly as possible. None of them have been so weird as the interview for a local yoga studio. What is your experience with yoga so far? Etc Then he had me demo my teaching skills. I managed to get half...

Art, Travel, Life | A light kinda joy about life's main plays – art and travel
Art, Travel, Life. A light kinda joy about life's main plays – art and travel. You and I are not so different. You see, I have learned a thing or two about people. One. When you do good, it is always because of you, yourself, and yours truly. Two. When you screw up (or, for lack of better words – make a mess of things), it is usually always because of somebody else and never ever 100…. Continue reading →. Catching the Yoga Bug
Catching the Yoga Bug. Occasional musings about yoga and life. Thursday, December 7, 2017. Chai is a sacrament with an ancient promise of bringing people together, for appreciating friendship with no common language other than wrinkles and eyelashes and a shared devotion to the cow, the sage who wanders the back steps and rests in the road. All flights depart at midnight. I had found a certain peace before I left, and settled into it until everyone pulled me aside to deliver the same message. The space h...

Catching things on the run. Saturday, August 11, 2012. On the eve of our first outing. Here I sit next to my husband on the couch in the middle of a Colorado rain storm anticipating our first road-trip in Cookie Monster. This may be the last time I sit on this couch for a while, barring all goes well. Or, I could be sitting back on this couch shortly if things continue like they did when we put the van together. Slick They looked real slick. Yup. Looked. Here's a few pics of us on the road now:.
Catching Threads
Thursday, 14 April 2016. A delayed winter outfit / Een verlate winteroutfit. Now things are slowly settling down, and as of last week I have a place for my sewing machine again, so finally the itch to sew is starting to come back! I was a little afraid of opening my blogroll after two months, and see all the posts that I will have to catch up on, but I'm ploughing through and it already gives me loads of inspiration! Both here on this blog, and via pattern review. En als laatste (beter laat dan nooit), o...
