Catfish and Cornbread: October 2009
http://www.catfishandcornbread.com/2009_10_01_archive.html
On Earth as it is in Georgia. Saturday, October 31, 2009. 5 Games for the Bank Account (Halloween edition). I'm getting the mid-to-late season, UGA isn't as good as I thought they'd be, Halloween blues. The only cure is to try and make some bank (legally, of course) on a few college football games. Here are 5 to keep you in the mood, 4 favorites and a big underdog:. New Mexico State ( 43.5) at Ohio State. Georgia Tech (-12) at Vanderbilt. Houston (-6.5) vs Southern Miss. Idaho (-3.5) vs Louisiana Tech.
Catfish and Cornbread: Gaines' Buzzer Beater

On Earth as it is in Georgia. Friday, January 15, 2010. The Hawks apparently can't beat Lebron, so I guess this is the next best thing. I wouldn't normally agree with anything that comes out of Reggie Miller's mouth, but I do here. Yata's postgame interview (UGA mention by David Aldridge):. Credit TNTSports and Utah Jazz:. Catfish and Cornbread: December 2009
http://www.catfishandcornbread.com/2009_12_01_archive.html
On Earth as it is in Georgia. Monday, December 28, 2009. It just hit me. Wednesday, December 23, 2009. Happy Holidays from C&C. This holiday, may there be bass under all your lily pads. Saturday, December 12, 2009. UGA fans getting greedy. As the news and rumors swirled on Rivals' UGASports.com. Reality check: I don't think D1 FBS coordinators really go around dreaming of bigger and better coordinator positions. I'd guess most would just as soon stay where they are, barring any major differences in s...

On Earth as it is in Georgia. Thursday, January 28, 2010. Our final post is the same as our first post. It was fun. Thanks. Wednesday, January 27, 2010. The next great Dawg? 2011 Carver prospect Isaiah Crowell. Friday, January 15, 2010. Todd Grantham on Defending Blocking Schemes. This is from the week prior to the Denver-Dallas game in October. More later this weekend on the impact of the 3-4 scheme that we're likely going to see from a Grantham defense. Credit TNTSports and Utah Jazz:. The Road to Copa...

Runaround Sue's: July 2009
http://runaroundsues.blogspot.com/2009_07_01_archive.html
Running around to Give you the Reacharound. Lords of the Ringless: An Update. As intimated in our dome-rattling feature a few months back. Steve Nash rounds out Sue's Top 3 Athletes who deserve a ring but do not have one. So it is with great sadness that I provide commentary on the recent news that Nash has accepted a 2-year extension. It's a good thing that Nash still has a very bright future as an actor, because it doesn't look like he'll be cementing any kind of legacy. Let's just hope he's more r...
Runaround Sue's: May 2010
http://runaroundsues.blogspot.com/2010_05_01_archive.html
Running around to Give you the Reacharound. And just to ensure you DEFINITELY never return. This blog.well, its fucking dead. I can't even scroll down for fear of the cringe-inducing sporadic posts that constituted the final days of Sue's. I'm sure there's a video of Steve Nash or something down there. So in that spirit.I present to you a list (more where that will come from, for better or worse) of The Top Ten Beers. 2) Natural Light - Tastes like water? Who the hell doesn't drink water? 5) Bud Select -...
Runaround Sue's: Real Life Matters: Week Five
http://runaroundsues.blogspot.com/2011/10/real-life-matters-week-five.html
Running around to Give you the Reacharound. Real Life Matters: Week Five. The League Championship Series-es have begun. It has to leave a dropping like bullion. Dogshit in your mental backyard: who for to root? Sit on this - the more you hate, the more you love. Do you think hard Celtics fans would be so die without their Lakers foils? The more years that stack up with Georgia losses, the more Florida fans feel their is no rivalry. And the more Georgia fans feel there is one. Population: 1.1 million.
The Hobnail Boot: Final Mumme Poll
http://hobnailboot.blogspot.com/2009/01/final-mumme-poll.html
I bleed Red and Black in the ATL. Friday, January 9, 2009. The Senator already has his final Mumme Poll. Up for the year and the final poll will be posted to his site next Monday. In the interim here is my final Mumme Poll for review. Any thoughts or criticisms are welcomed. Bold notes #1 overall, while asterisks note the rest of the top five. Rest of the top 5. Oh USC, what should I do with you? TCU played perhaps the best bowl game of the season. I was colored with envy watching their defense in th...
The Hobnail Boot: The Steroids "Issue"
http://hobnailboot.blogspot.com/2009/02/steroids-issue.html
I bleed Red and Black in the ATL. Tuesday, February 10, 2009. Let me preface my comments by mentioning that by far baseball is the sport I first truly loved as a kid and personally it is still my favorite. I'm sure everyone is aware of " The Story. So I won't bother rehashing what the Worldwide Leader has no doubt beat down your throat by this point (makes you look forward to the slob-fest Florida will be getting when half their games are on the Mother Ship next year, huh? The other argument I hear is "W...

The Hobnail Boot: September 2008
http://hobnailboot.blogspot.com/2008_09_01_archive.html
I bleed Red and Black in the ATL. Monday, September 15, 2008. Carolina: What I took from it. I'm certainly late in my thoughts on the game so I'll give a quick list of what I liked and what I didn't like regarding Saturday's game in Columbia. 1) We beat Carolina. 2) We beat Spurrier. To add to my earlier comment, it is that much sweeter when Spurrier goes down in flames. As the infamous Shaq would say "How's my ass taste? 3) Blair Walsh. Mr Walsh was in my list of concerns. 4) Matthew Stafford.

I bleed Red and Black in the ATL. Tuesday, January 27, 2009. My Two Cents on a Playoff. This seems to be a popular topic floating around the blogs recently so I thought I'd add my two cents to the discussion. I'm one of those fans that wants it both ways. I would love to see a playoff in college football, but I'd hate to see the regular season devalued. Here are three recent examples why I worry about a playoff being implemented in college football:. 1) 2008 Arizona Cardinals. 2) 2007 New York Giants.
The Hobnail Boot: Another foray into the world outside of sports
http://hobnailboot.blogspot.com/2009/02/another-foray-into-world-outside-of.html
I bleed Red and Black in the ATL. Wednesday, February 18, 2009. Another foray into the world outside of sports. Anyways, I've decided to take more of a personal focus on this blog during the downtime in the sports world to discuss the current crapstorm of a financial crisis we face in this country as my career path is intimately related to it. I decided to post this after a nice discussion. I entered with Ally over at her site. 2) The whole Citigroup situation. Nothing grinds my gears like Congressman ri...
The Hobnail Boot: November 2008
http://hobnailboot.blogspot.com/2008_11_01_archive.html
I bleed Red and Black in the ATL. Saturday, November 29, 2008. Go to hell Jon Fabris. Go to hell Willie Martinez. If either of you are employed in Athens next year, rest assured the Athletic Association does not have to worry about money coming from me. I really regret posting this at the time. My views on Coach Martinez haven't changed, but there's a civil way about doing things. Just a little FYI for all you kids, drinking and blogging don't mix. Labels: Willie Martinez firing countdown. Oh, I guess th...

Catfish and Cheese Grits (The Band That Never Was). This will be a blog for stories, poems, humor and songs. I hope you enjoy and feel free to post your own writing. You don't have to agree with me and we can even argue here if you like, but keep the posts clean. Thanks, Calvin. Thursday, December 22, 2016. Fried Catfish & Collard Greens
Fried Catfish and Collard Greens. The incredible travelling adventures of a young black actor. Thursday, September 08, 2011. I left New York a year ago. This fact totally blows my mind. I was sitting down in my apartment this evening (it's the occasionally creaky ground floor of a Victorian-era house), sitting in my new faux-leather Target easy chair, watching Packers-Saints on my big flat screen - and I looked around and realized that I didn't have any of these things twelve months ago. July 10: fly bac...
