Pic Me Up: Colors in the Crayon Box
http://picmeupphotos.blogspot.com/2015/07/colors-in-crayon-box.html
Thursday, July 30, 2015. Colors in the Crayon Box. I admire the colorful photographs of picture-makers like Robin Craig. Whether capturing the color and culture of travels around the world, that's Robin, or the energy of London life with family in tow, that's Xanthe, their photographs are vibrant and alive. And perhaps, Dull As Dirt. Riding toward Belle Plains in Stafford . . . laundry, bright and clean and eye-catching. I found a a few pops of Radical Red. Cause summer is slipping by too quickly. These ...

Pic Me Up: A Closer Look
http://picmeupphotos.blogspot.com/2015/08/a-closer-look.html
Tuesday, August 4, 2015. I admire those of you who know you are. You instinctively make wise choices. You say No, even to good things, to keep your life balanced. You make decisions in a straightforward manner, in accordance with your solid sense of self. You are an oak. I am not like you. My foundation is sound, but I sway quite a bit, more like a willow. I often find myself wondering - maybe? Life can make us forget. We get so busy, heads down, that we lose sight of how it is we want to live. Im so gla...

The same bugs that destroyed my watermelon plant a few seasons back and the same bugs that seem to love my roses. My solution is very natural and non toxic too. I took peppermint soap, diluted with water and sprayed the plant. The plant survived…the bugs did not! So this is my plan to protect my melon this season. I’ll keep you posted. xo. April 2, 2015.

I’m not happy with the picture but Austin really wanted to drink this juice so I could only take a quick snap shot. My friend Kate. Sent me a pin yesterday and said this recipe. Reminded her of me. I had to try it. I’m always talking about getting my glow on! A knob of ginger. 5 wedges of pineapple. April 2, 2015.

Pic Me Up: Before Summer Slips Away
http://picmeupphotos.blogspot.com/2015/08/before-summer-slips-away.html
Saturday, August 15, 2015. Before Summer Slips Away. A brief interlude on a busy weekend to share a few pictures from the local Farmer's Market . . . before summer slips away. And home to make meal plans and prepare for a week's worth of cooking. We really need to get back to the basics. I've had a spell of summer laziness in the kitchen and haven't felt like cooking at all. Wishing you home-cooked meals, Donna. August 15, 2015 at 6:34 PM. August 16, 2015 at 5:07 AM. I really like your photos! Its so fun...

Pic Me Up: On Common Ground
http://picmeupphotos.blogspot.com/2015/08/on-common-ground.html
Friday, August 7, 2015. Depending on your point of view, a small town agricultural fair is either one of the saddest places on earth or one of the most joyful. Aiming to win a ribbon for the largest zucchini in the garden might seem a cry for a little reward in the midst of a desperate life. Swirling round and round on the Scrambler with kids holding Tootsie pops might seem a poor excuse for entertainment. We went to the fair. At the fair, every scene is a picture in the making. The siblings squished tog...

Tag Archives: Nature Photography. September 22, 2016. I see the turning of a leaf dancing in the autumn sun, and brilliant shades of crimson glowing when a day is done. It is autumn and I feel my body relaxing, one long exhale as my senses come alive again after the long, sweltering, humid summer. My energy has returned and I venture outdoors once more, eager to resume my daily walks with Popeye, relishing the crunch of leaves underfoot. It’s sweater weather, my favorite time of year. Saturday, May 30, 2015. Making Friends with Food. Many of you are like me and your relationship with food is a complicated one. As a little girl, I was what we used to call “pleasantly plump.” In my generation, kids had their height and weight checked in school every year and the results were called out loud to be recorded in our permanent record. I vividly remember my fourth grade year because I was the heaviest girl in the class at 124 pounds. A few years back, a friend sent me a link to Smith magazine...

Pic Me Up: Not So Fast
http://picmeupphotos.blogspot.com/2015/08/not-so-fast.html
Wednesday, August 12, 2015. I recently swapped out my vintage cell phone (one that only rang with no texting and didn’t take any pictures at all) for an iPhone. I made the upgrade for two reasons: 1) to keep in touch with my college freshman who wants to text and 2) to take pictures on the go. I waded in slowly, texting a few friends and taking pictures from a new perspective. And I like my iPhone 6. I’m not so sure that I like the iPhone and social media after all. I know myself, and being all-or-none b...
