Making paper has always been a fundamental part of my work as the textured surface informs my painting and provides an exciting and challenging landscape upon which to work. I explore the figure and landscape through paper and paint and try to capture the essence of character through colour and composition. I strive to push myself and improve and I have recently swapped acrylic for oils and made paper for board which has helped me focus on mark making rather than texture in my most recent paintings.
