Textile Addict: February 2012
http://textileaddict.blogspot.com/2012_02_01_archive.html
Wednesday, 15 February 2012. Tag Tuesday - Valentine. I don't have any wedding dress material but did have some offcuts of when I made a christening robe so used that for the background. For privacy reasons, I have obscured the date and names. If you haven't already, have a look at the other tags on Tag Tuesday. There's a great variety and everyone seems to enjoy taking part in the challenge. Saturday, 11 February 2012. Tag Tuesday - Hearts. Thursday, 9 February 2012. Rainbow Scrap Challenge - more green.

Pine Freckled Blog: April 2013

A blog for quilters by an obsessed quilter. Tune in to keep in touch with my insanity. Friday, April 19, 2013. Seizing the Opportunity to Tangle with the Karma Bus. Holy applesauce, Batman! Crap just hit the fan. Shit just got real. I was beginning to think that I was making some progress. My jeans were getting looser, my arms firming up a bit, my knee sausages were shrinking and my breathing was getting easier. The numbers on the scale were even starting to creep lower. Things were looking good. I've go...

Pine Freckled Blog: July 2014

A blog for quilters by an obsessed quilter. Tune in to keep in touch with my insanity. Friday, July 11, 2014. Memorials, Author Signings, Stalkeratizi, and Crazy Aunts. I have an amazing family. We’re quirky, weird, fun, and flaky. We are fabulous story-tellers and just a bit nuts. We fight like cats and dogs, but don’t say anything bad about one of us or we’ll kick your sorry ass. Nobody, but nobody has the right to say nasty things about my family (except me.). Most of us were true family, but about ha...

These past few weeks, I have been in my happy place. You guessed it. I've been in my studio. My writing has taken a backseat for a while as I have been feeding my other inner artist. I've been long arming a bit, but more importantly, I've been piecing. I am working on a Rapid Fire Hunter's Star Quilt. I am taking a class at Along Came Quilting. This will...

Pine Freckled Blog: I'm Kind of a Cut-Up
http://pinefreckledblog.blogspot.com/2013/09/im-kind-of-cut-up.html
A blog for quilters by an obsessed quilter. Tune in to keep in touch with my insanity. Tuesday, September 17, 2013. I'm Kind of a Cut-Up. As usual, today's post is related to what is on my mind, not about quilting or pattern design. Admittedly, on occasion I am easily confused. But, I'm trying to puzzle something out here, and I can't quite make sense of it. The nurse takes me into the back and starts asking me questions. One of the questions was "How are things at home? Does this make any sense to you?

A blog for quilters by an obsessed quilter. Tune in to keep in touch with my insanity. Tuesday, March 26, 2013. Rapid Fire Hunter's Star Class. For holding the class. The binding is machine sewn to the front, but as yet is not. Hand sewn down on the back. The crazy back of my quilt. I wanted to use up some of the scraps. I have four big bins of blue scraps already.). I like the way the back resembles a modern art painting. The small top made with my left over blocks. A classmate auditioning border fabrics.

Some of us believe in reincarnation, some in Summerland, some in Heaven and Hell. I'm not going to debate the afterlife here. That is not the purpose of this post. As for me, I will miss him, always. I love you Dad. Wherever you landed, give 'em hell. Links to this post. Saturday, March 1, 2014. Welcome, My Wee Grandson.

Magpie Quilts: July 2015
http://www.magpiequilts.com/2015_07_01_archive.html
How To Buy A Quilt. Friday, 17 July 2015. Scrappy quilts are my fav kind of quilts and yesterday I pulled out my bin of 1.5" scraps. The quilt I've been dreaming of making with these little pieces was a scrappy double Irish chain quilt. I love rearranging the pieces until I get something that looks good and I started with just a white background and scraps. Then I put yellow scraps for the main diagonal chain of squares and liked that look. Links to this post. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Where does it go?

Magpie Quilts: June 2015

How To Buy A Quilt. Sunday, 14 June 2015. Two Finds Make One Quilt. Quite often, I find myself sorting through my stacks of fabric to find something and end up finding something else altogether. This little quilt was a result of a couple finds while I was sorting fabrics. Panel pieces and friendship stars. It just so happened that this time as I was sorting, I noticed both these fabrics, realized what a great match they were together, pulled them out and promptly put all my other ongoing projects to the ...

Magpie Quilts: Family Tree Quilt
http://www.magpiequilts.com/2015/06/family-tree-quilt.html
How To Buy A Quilt. Friday, 12 June 2015. Recently I completed a family tree quilt. This was a challenge for me, not just to put it together, but to use the ideas and feedback from my customer and adapt the design to the size of the embroidery. The details were fused on with Steam a Seam and then button hole stitched. The customer found some butterfly fabric she really loved and it is used as the border. It is quilted with an all-over butterfly pattern that reflects the butterflies in the border. School ...
