My Mom has been gone just a year and I still find myself wanting to walk into the other room to tell or show her something. Whatever your relationship is or was with your parents there is always mixed emotions about things said or unsaid. I found myself in a profound exacerbation of my illness(es) and was told it was my stress and grief. I needed to take care of ME and calm my stress levels down.

Christmas in a Jar. I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday and lots of time spent with friends and family. Half of our kids were home and two of our granddaughters so we were delighted. Old Barns On A Rainy Day. The past few days have brought pouring rain to our very dry region. I was feeling house bound so grabbed my camera and went for a drive looking for my favorite old barns. This past month we have both been so busy working in our yard. After we got the pool area done and backyard all redone we started on the front yard. The past three years I was unable to really work in the yard and flower beds and it got so disgusting. This is our front yard right out off our front porch. This is the weeded and barked revision. The Pool Is IN! So it has been a very long process and three and a half months BUT for the most part, the pool is done. On July 1st we ordered our fiberglass pool. It started with a big hole in the back yard. They delivered the pool almost mid august and set it in the ground. On Labor Day weekend, the plumbing and the sides were filled in and it had water in it. All the kids and kidlets were here, so we had a pool party all three days! A few weeks later, they poured the first layer of concrete- -wild plum.

Two years ago we headed out to the Gifford Pinchot with dreams of berries. mountain views and refreshing mountain lakes only to be met with snowed in trail heads and freezing rain The long fourth of July holiday weekend provided us with another chance and Takhlakh Lake at the base of Mt Adams didn’t disappoint!
