Some other interesting info:. 8211; Hatchery opened in 1934. 8211; 100 acres of park land. 8211; They stock 100,000 Brook and Brown per year. 8211; Of the 100,000 – 20,000 are 2 years old when stocked. 8211; Stock ALL of Onondaga County streams. 8211; They offer “Fishing Days” for kids and groups. 8211; Wheelchair accessible.

Since December 1, 1995, Dr. Hazzard has directed the Commission’s land and water management activities including the biological services, fish rearing, distribution, engineering construction and maintenance. Tuesday, Sept 20th. Genegantslet Creek Restoration Project (2010 2013). The next phase of this project, which took place in mid April 2013, was willow planting in an attempt to stabilize the modified stream banks and structures. The planting was completed in two stages by TU members and volunteers. Two thousand rooted willow saplings obtained from the NYSDEC, at no cost to the chapter, were planted. Al Hazzard TU Hats $10. Owego Creek :: Al Hazzard Trout Unlimited

Tuesday, Sept 20th. Owego Creek flows through Tompkins and Tioga Counties within the Southern Tier of New York State. The creek flows from north to south, draining an area of approximately 185 square miles before emptying into the Susquehanna River in the Village of Owego. Owego Creek is part of the Susquehanna River Basin and Chesapeake Bay Watershed. The work is planned for the spring of 2014.
