How you can help. Multi-use trails are enormously popular with walkers, cyclists, skaters, dog-owners, snow-shoers and cross-country skiers, especially in Ulster County. The highest result in the statewide study was right here in Ulster County. The Hudson Valley Rail Trail, with over 650,000 annual users, was by far the most actively used trail in the study, while the Hurley Rail Trail, just outside Kingston, shows over 80,000 annual users! A rail trail for the catskills. How you can help. Why do we need the Catskill Mountain Rail Trail? Forty-four jobs will be created in Ulster County because of the Rail Trail. This is in addition to the 980 jobs that outdoor activities in the central Catskills already support, generating more than $46 million annually. The rail trail will generate $3.1 million in new spending in Ulster County each year. This represents an increase in $112,000 in annual county tax revenue. Help us build this trail.
