Confusaled: August 2009
http://confusaled.blogspot.com/2009_08_01_archive.html
Tuesday, August 11, 2009. Did you keep a journal as a kid? I didn't. I tried to many, many, many times, but I would flip back through the pages of what I wrote previously and think, "Oh, how stupid was I? Then I would rip out the pages or throw the whole thing away and start over. But the cycle just viciously repeated itself until I finally gave up the practice completely in middle school. Now I wish I had not only kept it up, but that I had kept the journals. Have you ever heard of the Salon of Shame.

Saturday, May 30, 2009. He couldn't have said it better himself. The other day I was driving to work and I heard a song for the first time on the radio. Have you heard Billy Currington's. People Are Crazy" yet? Yeah, the chorus is pretty much J's motto in life. God is great. Beer is good. People are crazy.". If you know J at all, you're probably nodding your head and smiling. He couldn't have summed it up any better if he tried himself. This old man and me, were at the bar and we. Talking politics, blonde.

Confusaled: February 2009

Wednesday, February 25, 2009. And that's how the fight started. I feel like I'm wussing out to just post a funny e-mail from a friend, but this was too good to pass up! My friend B sent this to me a few months ago, and I've kept it because it was that good. I hope you enjoy! I tried to talk my wife into buying a case of Miller Light for $14.95. Instead, she bought a jar of cold cream for $7.95. I told her the beer would make her look better at night than the cold cream. And that's how the fight started.

Confusaled: October 2009
http://confusaled.blogspot.com/2009_10_01_archive.html
Friday, October 23, 2009. Regardless, we had a blast. Our cruise was scheduled to make 4.5 ports of call: Ketchikan, Skagway, Juneau, Tracy Arm Fjord, and Victoria, BC. (I say 4.5 because Tracy Arm is not a place you get off the ship - it is an amazing, scenic area.) It'll take a few entries, but I'll blog about all of our experiences in the different ports. We boarded the ship in Seattle on Sunday at about 1:30 pm We had spent the weekend at my dad's house (Friday night we went to see. This boat used to...

Confusaled: More knowing me, knowing you
http://confusaled.blogspot.com/2011/04/more-knowing-me-knowing-you.html
Saturday, April 9, 2011. More knowing me, knowing you. Here are the questions I missed from October…two years ago…man, I took a LONG break, didn’t I? I’ll try not to do that again. (But I’m not making any promises.). 1 Crunchy peanut butter or smooth? Well, it depends on how I’m eating it! I like both crunchy and creamy, but it has to be Jif. 2 Do you do any volunteer work? Well, not really. I do all kinds of stuff at school, though, that I don’t get paid for. Does that count? And there are always differ...

Confusaled: January 2009
http://confusaled.blogspot.com/2009_01_01_archive.html
Wednesday, January 28, 2009. From the mouths of babes, part 9. In November, our topic was "Gossip.". In my fourth hour class, B is a junior and he has a group of 5 frosh, all boys. He typically "adopts" a few more, though, who would rather be with a boy than a girl mentor. B was sitting with his 7 boys and said, "Okay, guys, how would you define gossip? Without missing a beat, M responded "Girls.". Well, he got that right, didn't he? Tuesday, January 27, 2009. My new favorite thing. A few days later I wa...

Thursday, April 30, 2009. They said we'd have an African-American President when pigs fly. Tuesday, April 28, 2009. I am obsessed with music lately. Ever since I took my first Zumba. Class, I find myself listening for the beat in the songs I hear, and trying to figure out how to move to it. I find that I still have ZERO rhythm. But I'm having so much fun doing it! When I am home alone, I might even bust out a few moves for the cats. They're not all that interested. Here are the songs on my playlist.

Saturday, April 16, 2011. During Spring Break, I decided it was finally time to have the septic tank pumped. I'd heard that you were supposed to do it every four or five years or so, and we're going on 7.5 years in this house. We've never had it pumped. Here's what I learned:. 1 I learned where my septic tank is. I had an idea, but now I know. 4 I learned it costs $95/hour for someone else to dig up my septic tank. 5 I learned I should just get my own stick. 8 I learned that our septic tank is OLD. W...

Confusaled: November 2008

Sunday, November 30, 2008. It's this time of year, I tell you, I start to get all verklempt. I start thinking about everything I am thankful for, and with each year that passes, the list gets longer. For example, just off the top of my head, here's a list of Ten Things I'm Thankful for:. 3 my family and friends. 5 my house / roof over my head. 7 blue jeans and sneakers. 8 warm blankets on a cold day. 9 rain and snow in this dry desert. And this is just the beginning. What are you thankful for? 8 "Well, y...
