Cause of the week. A forum intended to help spread the word on small opportunities for big action. Sunday, February 14, 2010. ILove, iAct, iDo. I love you. I have loved you from the beginning. You have given without me asking. You have fulfilled my dreams before I dreamt. You are everything I've ever wanted, and everything I did not know I wanted. Our nation has arrived at a historic moment, where we are reaffirmed as equals, two persons. Now it is time for me to give to you. Google, will you marry me?

cause of the week: the good critic

http://causeoftheweek.blogspot.com/2010/05/good-critic.html

Cause of the week. A forum intended to help spread the word on small opportunities for big action. Sunday, May 16, 2010. The first delay in writing this piece came from a possibly misguided attempt to combine concepts that may or may not actually fall under the same umbrella. Early research for the piece led me to Reinhold Martin and George Baird's published cry and response circa 2005 on what was identified at the time as a disciplinary movement into a post-critical era. [1]. In the windows of old Times...

The image is merely proof (as images are) that my iphone and I somehow found ourselves in Ariana Huffington's powder room last week (how crazy is that? I might just have an extra. The brand new, non-repeat version of This American Life. A few weeks ago, my friend Whitney and I got tickets to the sold out live screening of the one hour This American Life. One person. one architect. onesmallproject. repeat. Sunday, January 31, 2010. The show "small architecture BIG LANDSCAPES" is moving towards completion, at least in terms of installing the "small architectures," the flatworks, and the collection of self-builder tools. Time is short, at least right now, but I have posted several photographs taken on January 29 and 30 of some of the small buildings under construction in the Swope Art Museum. The opening panel for the show reads as follows:. More to follow .

One person. one architect. onesmallproject. repeat. Saturday, April 25, 2009. Deer Blinds, a Deactivated Nuclear Power Plant, and the House Across the Street: Offering an Abandonment Taxonomy. I'm just back, walking around the block. It's a pretty good place, "the historic Meridian-Kessler neighborhood," Indianpolis, Indiana. Solidly middle, more so. Is this house more than "vacant"? Not merely "for sale"? I was abandoned in summer 2006. In Flint, maybe 10,000 abandoned buildings. In 2003, Indianapol...

onesmallproject: smallBIG: roundtable

http://onesmallproject.blogspot.com/2010/04/smallbig-roundtable.html

One person. one architect. onesmallproject. repeat. Friday, April 2, 2010. It is important "to build relationships, rather than to build," and to be involved in ways that cause us not to be the tools of developers. People "survive without us." Think: "small action BIG REINVENTION.". Who are we to try to depict" the lives of those living in distress? The architect should function in "strictly an assist role, maybe as a translator." Remember: "humanity persists despite struggle.". Is there ethical space?

But to a great extent, the built environment is shaped by what we carry in our toolboxes. After seeing these tools, one can better understand: they are found in the toolboxes of some of the most determined, prolific, and talented builders in the world. Samagaon, Nepal (Gaurab Kc). Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada (Lancelot Coar). Cause of the Week.

Cause of Style

Pretty much, yes. December 31, 2016. Understatement of the last forty days of 2016 what a fucking year . During that time I managed to get an additional part-time/freelance fashion position that fulfilled me in a way I would never have expected. I was now working as a member of a large team and going to an office pretty much everyday and for some reason that changed my perspective entirely. I was -dare I say- happy with my career prospects for the first time in several years. A Surprising turn of events.

Cause of the pawn. Socially responsible' thoughts from a short tempered malcontent sick of the way society is being 'modified' to accomodate the FUTURE. Wednesday, August 8, 2007. Some pretty smart guy once stated "Taxation without representation is tyranny" or something to that effect, and along with other noteworthy disgruntled malcontents, changed world history. So here we sit, 231 years later and what have we got? Do you like how your taxes are spent, or do you even know where your tax money goes?
