Mario Cavazos Vela began taking photographs in Los Angeles, California in 1992. In 1995 he exhibited for the first time in Santa Monica, CA. He then moved back to his native Monterrey, in the northeast of Mexico where he taught photography at the University of Monterrey. By 1998 the Cinetca de Nuevo Leon. Originally every black and white photograph I’ve ever taken is an exercise in composition. The discipline of creating images with only shades of gray has been a fascination of mine.
