Homeward Bound: April 2011
http://chazaaq.blogspot.com/2011_04_01_archive.html
Friday, April 15, 2011. Damascus, VA: Pit Stop #2 (459.5 miles). How the times flies by! It has been more than a month since I have been able to update. As you can imagine, computers with internet come few and far between. I have so much to say, so let me start 4 weeks ago, just before I went into North Carolina. I spent the day relaxing down by the river, watching kayakers paddle, and caught up on my journal. THE GREAT SMOKY MOUNTAINS NATIONAL PARK. All good things must come to an end. I descended b...

Homeward Bound: November 2010
http://chazaaq.blogspot.com/2010_11_01_archive.html
Monday, November 15, 2010. I am cautiously excited for The Tempest. It is my favorite Shakespeare play. But as movie adaptations of Shakespeare go, they can be underwhelming- see Romeo Juliet. The director, Julie Taymor is best known for the Broadway production The Lion King. My favorite character, Caliban, is being portrayed by one Djimon Hounsou. The fish-man always holds a place in my mind when I think of primordial morality. Along with other great simple men, Benjy for The Sound and The Fury.

It has been a little less than a month since I last wrote from Damascus. There was a rumor floating around that Virginia was flat- let me assure you that is nothing but lies! Wednesday was 17 miles, and Thursday was 13 respectably, evening out to my 15 mile avg. March 18, 2011 at 2:29 PM. This makes me very very happy. March 19, 2011 at 3:36 AM. March 19, 2011 at 4:11 PM. Homeward Bound: October 2010
http://chazaaq.blogspot.com/2010_10_01_archive.html
Tuesday, October 26, 2010. The Battle Hymn of the Republic. Derived itself from a song called "John Brown's Body". It was a popular song with the Union Troops in praise of the abolitionist John Brown. Monday, October 25, 2010. June 6th - Harper's Ferry, WV. John Brown's body lies a moldering in the grave,. John Brown's body lies a moldering in the grave,. John Brown's body lies a moldering in the grave,. But his soul keeps marching on. My logistics were supplied by a trip to a hunting outfitter outlet, W...

Homeward Bound: July 2011
http://chazaaq.blogspot.com/2011_07_01_archive.html
Sunday, July 31, 2011. Pennsylvania to New Hampshire. Empire State of Mind! Some thru-hikers attempt the Connecticut marathon of a full 52 mile day through the whole state. I would disagree and say, take your time because it is wonderful. Fourth of July was fast approaching and on independence day I found myself in. Less than a month ago, and it already seems so far away. I teamed up with my buddy Drumsolo, a State College native and Penn State student (Go Lions! The next day I entered New Hampshire, but...
