Debating is the second largest extra-curricular activity in the College, and the Debating Society is also the oldest in Christian Brothers College, and indeed all secondary schools in the county. Sports Hall and Gym. Academic Excellence and Awards. Artist talent is very much nurtured at CBC. Recognition of talent and provision of the right environment to develop a student's talent in the arts is strongly emphasised in the school. Workshops cover aspects of painting, pottery, sculpture, puppet-making, calligraphy, video-making, photography, poetry, writing, percussion, song-writing, drama and theatre, Irish music and set-dancing, and include live performances by both students and teachers!

Sports Hall and Gym. Academic Excellence and Awards. The completion of an extension to the main College building in 2001 introduced full day boarding facilities to the College. Students can now avail of a full lunch menu, served daily at the main lunch break, in the College Restaurant. In addition, breakfast food is served during the morning break. The College has started the process of consulting with school architects, building surveyors and experts in areas such as recycling, sustainability and ICT. However, the Board recognises the crucial role to be played by the whole CBC community. Consequently, the teachers and other member of staff, the pupils, parents, Past Pupils Union and Trustees are all invited to get involved in the work during the planning stage.
