Some more good news … results from the 2011 Blue Crab Winter Dredge. Results reports “Population at 2nd highest level since 1997.” Interesting, the cold winter did take a toll. The article notes “that as much as 31 percent of Maryland’s adult crabs were lost to winter kill, as opposed to about 11 percent in 2010” – I had not idea the impact of the cold on the populations.
