紫金山天文台毫米波和亚毫米波技术实验室主要从事基于低温超导器件的太赫兹毫米波亚毫米波高灵敏度微弱信号探测技术研究及应用系统研究，在该领域有很深的造诣，已取得许多高水平的成果主持研制了我国第一台100-GHz频段超导SIS接收机获2001年江苏省科技进步一等奖，并在其基础上成功研制了该频段的多谱线接收系统获2007年国家科技进步奖二等奖，成功应用于天文观测主持研制了我国第一台500-GHz频段的低耗电小型化超导SIS接收系统，在我国首次观测到亚毫米波段的星际分子谱线与日本NiCT研究所合作，成功研制基于 NbN超导隧道结的500-GHz频段高性能超导混频器，在国际上首次将NbN超导混频技术应用于天文观测研究参与了ALMA及SMA等大型天文国际计划的合作研究，为其中亚毫米波超导接收机的研制作出重要贡献与俄罗斯莫斯科师范大学物理系合作，在国内率先开展了太赫兹超导HEB热电子混频技术研究，并在国际上率先实现了基于4-K闭环制冷环境的超导HEB热电子混频实验。 1、100GHz频段基于铌 Nb 的超导SIS混频器研制，主要应用于13.7米毫米波天文望远镜.
