My friend, L.Rae, lives by the Painted Ladies! I had my first Cinnamon Dolce Latte in six months . heaven! And I had In n Out . can you see my waistline expanding yet? Golden Gate Bridge was out! Saturday, June 29, 2013. NAF Atsugi Bon Odori Festival (August 2012). Obon is an annual Buddhist event for remembering one's ancestors and the sacrifices they made during their life. The Japanese believe that each year during obon, their ancestors' spirits return to this world in order to visit their relatives. Friday, July 19, 2013. Last October, Mrs. S. and I went on a tour to Nikko to see the fall foliage. Our first stop was Ryuzu Falls, which means "dragon head." The falls are thought to resemble a dragon head, however I couldn't see it. Do you? Beautiful Japanese Red Maple. Halloween decorations in one of the stores! Our next stop was Kegon Falls . it did not disappoint with all the beautiful fall colors! A five tiered pagoda near the entrance. The barn with the famous monkeys! A close-up of the monkeys.

Sunday, September 22, 2013. Hiking in Japan (December 2012). We haven't done as much hiking here in Japan as we would like to, but J. found a trail that is nearby and dog friendly. We headed out there one crisp December day with our neighbor and his dog, Angus. Our first glimpse of the view. J, me Lucy . she was SO happy to get back out on the trail! You could see all the way to Tokyo and Yokohama. Mr H and Angus . he and Lucy are besties! J and I with the dogs. One happy little pup. One last view .
