June 27, 2015. Recipe: Fig and Prosciutto Pasta. We’ve made this a few times, and every time, I think it’s already on the blog. It wasn’t. And finally I’m remembering to post it! We’ve made it with pancetta and prosciutto but I think we prefer prosciutto. It’s based off of this recipe. With a few modifications. Fig and Prosciutto Pasta. 4 oz prosciutto, thinly cut. 2 shallots, minced. 1 garlic clove, minced. 3/4 cup heavy cream. 12 fresh figs, quartered. 1/3 cup fresh basil leaves, torn.

July 5, 2015. We spent most of the day at a family friend’s lake house and the girls were in heaven. They wanted little to do with us as our friends have two older daughters. I only saw Emerson when she wanted to ask me if she could ride the jet ski with one of the girls. (Side note: We didn’t let her on it without an adult.). The girls were asleep within minutes. July 23, 2015. Hiking and Ice Cream. After the hike, on our drive back, we passed a sign for Babyland General Hospital. I told the girls that that’s where Cabbage Patch Kids come from. (They have my old one.) Lila immediately asked if those were the kind we eat. I was confused for a second until I realized she was thinking of Sour Patch Kids.😉. We sat outside the “ice cream silo”, watched their cows graze, and played around the ENORMOUS cow that they have as yard decor. It was a great summer day!

Day: August 3, 2015. August 3, 2015. Weekend at Lake Burton. We spent the weekend at a friend’s parents’ lake house at Lake Burton. The girls have been to lake houses a couple of different times, so they were very excited for this weekend. Six adults and six kids – a perfect number to have a wonderful weekend. Day: August 9, 2015. August 9, 2015. 8216;Twas the Night Before First Grade. Twas the night before first grade and all through the house. Everyone was stirring, quiet as a mouse. The uniforms were washed and ironed with care. In hopes that 6:30am alarm would soon be there. The children were nestled all snug in their beds. While mama and daddy tried to calm the nerves in their heads. The six year old said she is most excited. About a new uniform to wear, and be invited. Join 14 other followers.

June 30, 2015. I have been wanting to take the girls to the Mo Willems exhibit at the HIGH museum, along with the Knuffly Bunny show at the Alliance, for a few weeks now. Well the show was sold out but we did finally make it to the museum with a friend (after a brief detour at Sublime! As soon as you enter the Arts Center courtyard, you’re met with these amazing woven “spinning tops” works of art and play pieces. They are sturdy enough to climb on, and they spin!
