I grew up In Dallas, came to UT, and have lived in Austin ever since. I began my teaching career with AISD, taught for six years, and then took a 15-year break to stay home with my family. My husband, Grover, and I have been married for 34 years and we are the proud parents of three sons and we have a precious granddaughter. Our family moved to the Canyon Creek neighborhood in 1990. Students are expected to read 20-30 minutes four times per week. They are required to thoughtfully respond to their reading six times during a 2-week period. These reading response forms will be due every other Friday. A Reading grade and a Writing grade will be given for this assignment. There will be times when a daily Math lesson will need to be completed at home. I introduce a map skill on Mondays. And then the children are given a "Weekly Geo" assignment which is due on Friday.
