CCIE-SP: August 2009
http://second-ccie.blogspot.com/2009_08_01_archive.html
CCIE R&S #23895 trekking towards CCIE SP. Monday, August 24, 2009. Finished 1-9, on 10. for the second time. I decided to redo the first 10 labs of IPX vol1 and I'm glad I did, I think I gained a firmer understanding of what the labs were about and coupled with the labs, I re-read MPLS Fundamentals. not the whole thing but certain chapters. I figure I'll finish up lab 10, re-read RSVP and TE and then do lab 11. I'm thinking I would like to see some more configs. Labels: IPX vol 1. Tuesday, August 4, 2009.

CCIE-SP: INE Vol 1 multicast - Lab 3 - Multicast RPF Failure (3rd Pass)
http://second-ccie.blogspot.com/2010/10/ine-vol-1-multicast-lab-3-multicast-rpf.html
CCIE R&S #23895 trekking towards CCIE SP. Thursday, October 28, 2010. INE Vol 1 multicast - Lab 3 - Multicast RPF Failure (3rd Pass). So this lab deals with Multicast with broken uRPF due to PIM no being enabled on preferred route/link. The best way to determine where the problem is, is to use "no ip mroute-cache" on the the PIM enabled interfaces and to "debug ip mpacket". Of course, you'll want to log this to the buffer and not the console. Labels: INE Vol 1 - multicast - 3rd pass. INE Vol 1 - 2nd pass.

CCIE R&S #23895 trekking towards CCIE SP. Saturday, October 23, 2010. INE Vol 1 - Lab 21 - Controlling MPLS Label Distribution (3rd Pass). Don't forget when restricting label advertisements using "mpls ldp advertise-label for X to Y" that you need to disable mpls ldp advertise-labels for ALL labels which is on be default and won't show up in the config. No mpls ldp advertise-labels. Mpls advertise-labels for X to Y. Labels: INE Vol 1 - 3rd pass. List of things to review in no specific order:. Passed Micr...

CCIE R&S #23895 trekking towards CCIE SP. Tuesday, September 7, 2010. OL - MPLS Label filtering. Atleast 2 ways to accomplish label filtering, meaning appending label to prefix. Outbound filtering and Inbound filtering. No mpls ldp advertise-labels. Mpls ldp advertise-labels for 51 to 50. Access List 51 is ACL for the prefixes and ACL 50 is the ACL for the LDP neighbor. Mpls ldp neighbor 1.1.1.1 labels accept 99. Access List 99 is the ACL for the prefixes. Thursday, September 2, 2010. Also, note that to ...

CCIE R&S #23895 trekking towards CCIE SP. Thursday, July 29, 2010. INE Vol 1 - Lab 8 - Extranet. Another fairly easy review. Extranets using their own import/export of route-targets. So far no notes or configs to put down seeing as I'm flying through the last (or first) 8 labs. Labels: INE Vol 1 - 2nd pass. INE Vol 1 - Lab 7 - Central Services. Also, pretty straight forward, a manipulation of route-targets, importing only the route target of the CS vrf and exporting your own route-target. Notes: CLNS ope...

CCIE R&S #23895 trekking towards CCIE SP. Friday, January 22, 2010. INE Vol 1 - Multicast Lab 1 - ip pim dense mode. I still have to revisit the last lab and review the comments in the last post but I went ahead and did the first lab of the IP Multicast section in Vol 1 INE. Relatively easy as it's basic PIM Dense mode multicast and was covered under R&S. There's 13 labs in this section and that will complete Vol 1. I'm also going over the CoD for SP from INE too and I'm finding them very helpful. QoS is...

CCIE R&S #23895 trekking towards CCIE SP. Monday, October 25, 2010. INE Vol 1 - Lab 26 - Multicast over MPLS VPNs (3rd pass) - BGP MDT SAFI! For the IOS I'm using for my lab 12.4(20)T, it's necessary to configure BGP address-family MDT for the MDT tunnel to come up. Labels: INE Vol 1 - 3rd pass. List of things to review in no specific order:. PIM ver 1 and IGMP ver 1. ISIS in TCP/IP J.Doyle's book. INE Vol 1 - lab 14-16 Inter-AS MPLS VPNs. INE Vol 1 - 2nd pass. INE Vol 1 - 3rd pass. Other things to note, MP-eBGP multi hop and IPv4 Send-label are required. IPv4 BGP Send-label to get labels across the Inter AS connection. Labels: INE Vol 1 - 3rd pass. List of things to review in no specific order:. PIM ver 1 and IGMP ver 1. ISIS in TCP/IP J.Doyle's book. INE Vol 1 - lab 14-16 Inter-AS MPLS VPNs. INE Vol 1 - 2nd pass. Ronnie A...

CCIE-SP: November 2009
http://second-ccie.blogspot.com/2009_11_01_archive.html
CCIE R&S #23895 trekking towards CCIE SP. Thursday, November 19, 2009. INE Vol 1 - Lab 14 - finished - Back to Back VRF. Pretty straight forward lab on using 2 routers and a single Fast Ethernet interface, dot1q trunked or "router on a stick", to exchange VRF. Information for 2 ASes. Yeah, that's a long sentence. So the 2 CE's. Span 2 different BGP. And the 2 BGP. Meet at a single point where the 2 routers share a dot1q FE trunk. The sub interfaces. On both routers. Then there are 2 BGP. 4 table. RDs.
